Challenge Game Search

Post by dinkyb »

I am from a team in dublin looking for challenge games outside of Dublin, for Senior football.
I have used www.challengeme.ie a bit and found it good but see veru little activity from Offaly
Just thought I would put a note up here to see if some teams might use it for a challenge game request.
Knowing personally the hassle it can be to find challenge games, this new site www.challengeme.ie opens up opportunities to play teams from all over the country.
Its free and looks like it'll be a great step forward in organising matches and making it easy to get away from the same old teams we all seem rely on.

Hi Dinkyb and cherry99,

Your site is a good idea and good luck with it. Just a piece of advice about trying to promote it online - don't be dishonest with your audience. It is clear that you are from the site (and the same person), so be honest with people. Say 'hey everyone, I have a site that could solve a lot of problems for coaches and help your team succeed. I'd love to get some teams from offaly signed up and get peoples reactions'. Ask people their opinions, ask them what they would like to see, start genuine conversations, not fake ones. If people see that you are dishonest from the start, they are less likely to trust what you are saying and are less likely to engage with either your site and your conversation topic. Hence the reason why nobody replied.

I guarantee you that if you change your approach that you will increase the the amount of interactions and conversions on your site.

llkj,
I put up the original notice, it is completely true. I am involved in football and looking for challenge games for our Senior team.
You are correct, I am also involved in the http://www.challengeme.ie website. and our club uses challengeme.ie to find challenge games.
I came up with the idea because I found finding challenge games a complete pain. anybody who I have spoken to who has the same job in a GAA club has told me the same thing. I think this site has the possibility to stop that pain.

I purposely did not put up a "direct promotion" comment on your forum as other fora around the country had removed these when I put them up. I would much prefer that approach, but some administrators dont like direct promotions, so I put the topic up as a comment which kills two birds with the one stone, ite tells your audience about the site and it might just get us a challenge game at senior football.

I can see where you are coming from about the second comment by cherry99, but that was NOT me. I think it was somebody I know trying to be helpful, but obviously not. I have not verified that yet but. I did not ask for that to be done. I agree that smacks of fake.
Look at other fora I have posted comments on like http://kildaregaa.boardonly.com/ I dont have a follow on person posting how great it is. It has only happened on the Offaly forum.

My apologies to anybody who felt I was being disingenuous, that was certainly not my intention.
The site is a good idea and already a fair few offaly managers have signed up, for anything like this to work the word has to get out to managers who will ultimately benefit.

If anybody does have comments how to make the site better, please feel free to post a comment here or directly on the comment page in http://www.challengeme.ie

Thanks for taking the time to read this and to the moderators for not deleting the thread.
