Bit harsh for the junior football final to be played in Geashill while you'd imagine that they would quite happily have played the match in O'Connor Park immediately after the senior refixture. Other than that it looks like a good busy weekend in store!

While everybody would like finals played in O'Connor park, the pitch is poor enough condition. For hurling especially, could do with fewer matches played on it.
It is a hard one to balance.

Not to take this off on a tangent, but has anyone any idea how St Brendan's Park is these days? Is it any closer to being fit for use for county semi finals and the like?

I'll second that. I thought the pitch was in poor condition for the Football Semi-Final that was played on Saturday evening. The grass looked too long and the ground looked very heavy under-foot.

If the pitch doesn't improve for the Hurling this weekend, it could affect the quality of those games very much.

Its going to be pretty dark if there's extra time!
It'll even be dark at the start of the game

Taking this off on a tangent - I passed by SBP about a week ago and took a look in the gate. The goalposts were up and the pitch was marked and flagged, so someone is playing ball there. There's a concrete terrace the length of the 'road' side of the ground too.
