I see this game is fixed for Hyde Park in Roscommon at 12:30 p.m on Saturday.

It will be difficult for the lads to pick themselves up after the defeat to Longford in the Leinster Final but hopefully we can do it and reach the All-Ireland Semi-Final for the first time since 2005.

I think it's safe to say he beat Offaly on his own that day!

Offaly make one change
30 July 2010

Offaly manager Ken Kelleghan has been forced into making one change to his side for tomorrow's ESB All-Ireland MFC quarter-final against Mayo at Dr Hyde Park.

Edenderry's David Hanlon is ruled out through injury and his place in the half forward line is taken by Clara's John Flattery with positional switches as a result. The Faithful County are aiming to bounce back from their shock Leinster final loss to Longford three weeks ago, and will be looking to star midfielder Noel Andrew Graham to inspire them to victory over the Connacht champions.

Offaly (MF v Mayo): Matt Carragher (Clara); Conor Lowry (Ferbane/ Belmont), Eoin Rigney (Rhode Og), Cian Donohoe (Rhode Og); Stephen Hannon (Rhode Og), Declan Hogan (Tullamore), Joe O'Connor (St Rynagh's); Noel Andrew Graham (St Vincent's), Derek Kelly (Edenderry); Peter Cunningham (St Broughan's), Pat Camon (St Rynagh's), John Flattery (Clara); Paul McPadden (Rhode Og), Stuart Cullen (Edenderry), Barry Cushen (Clara).

Hard luck to the minors today who lost out to Mayo by 2 points on a scoreline of 1-14 - 1-12.

Offaly lead by 2 points at the break(1-8-1-6)but found it hard in the second half against a strong wind and in the end,had to settle for defeat.

Mayo captain Cillian O'Connor fired three late points, as the Connacht champions claimed an All-Ireland semi-final berth, following a keenly contested game at Dr Hyde Park, Roscommon.

Offaly led by a point with six minutes remaining, following a score from substitute Johnny Brickland; however, Mayo dug deep with O'Connor top-scoring with nine points.

Offaly led by 1-8 to 1-6 at the interval, thanks to a goal from captain Noel Andrew Graham; with Jack McDonnell netting for the Westerners. It was a tight affair after the restart, with the sides level on three occasions. However, Mayo struck late to book a place in their third All-Ireland semi-final in as many years.

It appeared the subs had more interest in swapping gear than they did in the result. I never saw such laughter after a game. Looked very bad.

I just wonder if Ken Kellaghan is the right person to be coaching these lads.

I thought to start off with that it might be good because he has good experience winning championships with Rhode which he could pass onto the players but i'm starting to have my doubts after seeing how he behaved at the minor match where he started pushing an official around near the end of the match.

This is not the sort of example you want to see from the coach of a minor squad as they might start to pick up these traits as well.

As well as that Ken was and probably still is part of the drinking culture that has blighted Offaly football for so long and if that seeps into the younger players we could be fecked for another 10 years. :( :(

Any thoughts on this???

yes yours - in fairness to Ken ( and I don't know him or have any connection to Rhode) that last comment is way out of order

It may be the truth but not as i see it !!
