Should be a good test for the hurlers on Monday night , especially the new additions to the panel taking on Dublin at Oliver plunkets ground

Seems Dublin won 2-24 to 2-19, according to ReservoirDubs. Offaly had led 0-13 to 1-7 wind assisted at half time, Offaly went on to lead 2-15 to 2-10 after an exchange of goals early in the second half but it was all Dublin in the second half with McCrabbe, Rushe, Shane Ryan, Durkan, Declan O'Dwyer (with 1-3) & Peadar Carton the most prominent.

Anyone there like to share some thoughts with us, particularly the Offaly lineup?

Sorry POTH, was in the RDS instead. Does that warrant immediate banning from this site?

I'm sure you would have gone to the hurling, if the prospect of a match between equally matched sides was your main criteria! :P

Anybody know the Offaly team that lined out. Its a bit of a disturbing result so close to championship. From the resevoir dubs website it appears the Dubs had a very experimental team. Offaly should really be driving home the win against these teams. Consistentcy is a huge problem it appears and the defence is still conceding big scores against mickey mouse opposition.

Michael Carton made a good return to competitive intercounty action following injury which ruled him out of the league while Shane Ryan impressed at full-forward with four points from play.

Paul Ryan was clinical from placed ball throughout but Offaly led 0-13 to 1-7 at half-time with David Curtin grabbing the Dublin goal.

Seven minutes into the second half Declan ODwyer goaled again for the Dubs but Offaly responded.

Good to see Brendan Murphy back from injury. Does anyone
know why James Dempsey isn't getting any game time these days?
He didn't feature last week against Clare either. He did well during the
league just thought he was going to get his chance in the championship.

In fairness there's alot worse going on around here these times than lads going to rugby matches. Anyways I'm partial to the bit of rugby meself.

As for the team as it lined out, it looks like it was used as an opportunity to give a few lads a run who haven't done much hurling lately. We'll move swiftly along.
