Gaelic games football on the ps2.

Post by stupid like a fox »

Anyone know if there are any reviews or screenshots of this game yet, it has the potential to be great, or it could be another ea rugby effort piss poor and thrown together.

anyway here's a link.

Apparently the game has been developed by a company called IR Gurus, who are responsible for the AFL Premiership series in Oz. So I guess we could pressume both games will look similar when released.

i have played that AFL live 2004 for the PS2 and to be honest its only okay.Thought the grapics could have been better and the controls are a bit hard to master.Be interesting to see what sort of a slant they will put on the Gaelic Football version.

It doesnt matter as long as there is an option to create a player and I can go on, create myself, make myself class and captain Offaly to an All-Ireland. If i can do that I'll be happy!!

We'll need to add Offaly club teams and play off a virtual county championship.

Surely you can customise your own team to enough detail?
Will the game have enough custom hairdos to accurately create the Clara team?
Erin Rovers would be difficult to create.
Will the game cater for this?

Once there's a mullet option I'll be happy.

re. Erin rovers, will there be an option to add white ankle socks inside the pair of Gola's? That'd make me buy a PS2. :)

Wonder how the off the ball scuffles will work out and if we can customise our own referees. Now that would be interesting. If not I wonder what the standard of referees will be like. Will they be forced to keep time or will it be done electronically..
Really can't wait + hope they get started on a hurling game soon.

Bord na mona man - bit strong there on the slagging of Erin Rovers folk - light hearted banter is fine as long as it is in good taste.....

Played this game yesterday....its terrible, the players are impossible to make out, they can't score points from long range, players can't hop the ball or solo at speed, the commentary is woeful & none of the players are given names!!!

Its like something you'd have played on the commador 64!!!

For €55 its a bit steep for a game that is complete crap!!! :( :( :(

Have to say i am very dissappointed with this game.Gameplay is brutal and taking long range scores is impossible. Also teams dont seem to be seeded with london as good as kerry.

Is it really that bad??

Post by Hocker »

Gees 55 does seem quiet steep alright if its as bad as The Untouchable says???
Perhaps a lad mite get a copy of it on the cheap on e-bay???
Haven't played it yet but am very interested to see how the first installement turned out.
Has it got a create-your-own team mode??
Maybe we mite be able to replicate/create a pre-2006 west offaly championship on it with Shannonbridge, Rynaghs, Doon, Pullough and Ferbane...
Wonder if there is a riot police intervention option on it???
