Yet another man refusing to take his punishment.

OK we are not 100% sure of the facts here but at the end of the day the trend continues where a player is doing all he can to overturn a suspension. Threatening to retire is as childish it gets. But of course he's not retiring until after the football championship!!! I've no doubt he has no intention of retiring at all because if he was serious why doesn't he just quit now. Behaviour like this is one of the most negative part of modern GAA.

Re: Young to quit over suspension
This is quite amazing because he's not claiming innocence or even excessive punishment, but merely that he was charged under the wrong rule and thus should get off. I've nothing but respect for what James Young has achieved as a hurler, but his moral compass is completely off kilter on this one. His retirement will be a blow to Laois, but he wouldn't be the first player who began to take it out on others when his legs no longer allow him to do the things he used to be capable of, and if he sees nothing wrong with abusing referees, then it is probably time he walked away.bracknaghboy wrote:Yet another man refusing to take his punishment.

Shocking way for a lad to finish up, but fact he is claiming wrong rule is amazing. In fairness lads te comments about him being from Laois are a bit harsh. Is more the fact that this is the mentality that exists, guys unwilling to take their punishment.
