Went to extra time at 1-12 apiece and got beaten by something like 5-18 to 1-15

Dont be fooled by the scoreline as the game was much closer than that. The lads showed real spirit battling back from 6 points down & with a little bit of luck would have won it in normal time. Allen & Sullivan were excellent although the latter will have to learn to stop retailiating after being fouled. Dubs just had superior fitness & more options on the bench in the end. No shame though & I would like to thank all the minors for their effort.

Great spirit to fight back twice from several points down and just a pity they didn't kick on when they went a point or two up early in the 2nd half with the advantage of an extra man.

I think there are several blue-chip senior prospects in this squad - thanks for some great entertainment and rip-roaring matches over the summer.

Dublin seemed fitter later on in the match which told a story. Noel Andrew Graham was wrecked in the end, should have been moved out of the centre.
Some of the ball into Sullivan was dreadful. Never gave him a chance, hospital balls he had to fight for. Good fight in the team and a few nice players.
Positive!

Eddie Kinsella is a bit of a power-trippper. Was shocked when I saw his name on the programme. Knew him years ago, worked over near his country, and hung out in his company as we had mutual friends. Bit of an asshole and liable to get you into a row. Barred from many an establishment if my memory serves me. Although he was a handy player.
