Can there be some accommodation found for the Offaly - Down, Offaly - Waterford games that are both supposed to be fixed for Saturday?
Even if one is moved to Sunday, the Offaly minor footballers are playing in Croke Park.

The sensible thing to do would be to push out our hurling qualifier until Saturday week. The Q-Finals are scheduled for July 27th and the Semi's for Aug 10th (Kilkenny) & Aug 17th (Tipp) so there are options in there if any replays are needed.

Ya that makes a lot of sence, have the winners of Offaly/Waterford play twice in 2 days.

At the very least the Waterford - Offaly game on Saturday should be scheduled early in the afternoon so that people can either get to it or at worst see it on TV before the football game gets started at 7 o'clock (RTE are showing both hurling qualifiers).

A 3 or 4 o clock throw in for Portlaoise would be ideal. It would leave enough time to skip over to Tullamore for the football. These things things never work out how you want them to though. Good complaint to have all the same. Not too sure about television coverage yet bet they are definitely showing one qualifier and perhaps the two. It will be interesting to see if there is a clash what kind of crowds turn up to each.

Ok smartarse.. I thought you might be able to work it out, but here goes..
There's a spare week between the scheduled Q-Final and the 1st of the semi-finals and a 3 week gap from the 2nd semi-final to the All-Ireland final so there is huge scope for moving around fixtures if required.
It's unlikely that the fixtures comittee will be so accomodating so the best we can hope for is an early throw in down in Thurles and get back to Tullamore for the football at 7.

According to the papers Offaly have requested to have the under 21 game postponed. This is badly needed & might reduce the congestion a little bit. Do the Leinster council need the agreement of KK for this to go ahead ? Has anyone news on this request ??

Thurles on Saturday lads. Missed the start time but hope it is the early throw-in to allow time to get to Tullamore.

You seem to be under the deluded impression that the GAA can change the dates of the All Ire 1/4/ AND 1/2 finals at a whim. These dates are set in stone at the start of the yr and cant be changed. End of story.

Television scheduling will dictate the start times given that both hurling qualifiers are live on RTE with TV3 screening the Monaghan - Derry football qualifier.

The football is at 3pm so the hurling matches would be at 5pm and 7pm or thereabouts.

I wonder could the Offaly - Down qualifier be brought forward to 2pm or 3pm with the Waterfrd match at 7pm, giving folks the chance to take in both? That would probably need Down's agreement and they might have travel/meal arrangements made.

Fixtures announcemens like these are usually aired on radio sports bulletins at 3pm or 4pm. I suppose we'll know soon enough.

I'd be surprised if the Under 21 final was deferred, given that, if Offaly beat Waterford, they're out again the next weekend.
