Used to love reading this site. What gives?

An excellent standard of debate and hurling knowledge which would'nt be my forté...
I'm aware lots of posters here aka POTH, LS, BNMM etc checked in too.

Always laughed reading Hattons Grace' contribution. Extremely knowledgable and argumentative...
No insult intended OF but is HG the Noresiders equivalent of Offalys Future :)

Read somewhere that it had simply 'ran it's course'. Thats worrying is it not?

Heaven forbid mind, but whats to stop this website capsizing similarily

Agreed, 'tis sadly missed by me anyway. There were some very knowledgeable hurling contributors thereon. It's always good to keep an eye on what opposing counties are up to.

I particularly used to enjoy Arrigle's contributions which became increasingly scarce since he began writing for the Irish Times and later the Kilkenny Voice. Some of his 'Stubborn Nore' stuff was excellent literature. Of late the promoters of the site used post up the columns he wrote for the KK Voice. I wonder can these be obtained online anywhere else?

It was a good read all right.
It occasionally suffered from the DJ vs. Brian Corcoran, or DJ was held scoreless in X amount of all Irelands slagging matches when a few Cork posters came along.
There was a lot of Waterford slagging too, which might have annoyed the people behind it.

Arrigle's columns were a great read (once you translated them) and his technical analysis of hurling was excellent.
Sadly not many hurling journalists pay much attention to strokeplay mechanics.
Kevin Cashman or Babs Keating being rarities when it came to analysing an individual hurler's strengths and weaknesses.
However Arrigle didn't take too kindly to criticism and it often turned ugly.

This forum has plenty more legs in it. There aren't any troublemakers or winder uppers around (as yet). Also it is a great source of information for matches that a lot of us can't get to.

'ran it's course' - Good Lord. Thought it was a great place to drop into. And here I was thinking they closed it off temporarily so that no secret preparations for the championship season could be made public!

Didn't know how good we had it, hurling, football and a website!
