What Offaly paper do you read?

I would guess that there would be certain regional slants to readership/sales

- Lord Baron John Kilclooney Taylor's Tullamore Tribune in the capital's catchment area (obviously) and North Offaly.
- The Offaly Independent would do well in the Athlone catchment area in the North-West, who would enjoy the heavy Westmeath content of the paper. :D
- Midland Tribune around Birr and the South.
- Offaly Topic around East Offaly and probably the Fingal Independent too!
- Offaly Express towards the East also.

I would be the Tullamore Tribune reader, for the sport and relevance.
I'd also get the Express sometimes, but it isn't that well stocked in many news agents.

Midland Tribune and Express. Would get the others occasionally though they don't seem to be stocked south of Birr. Would rate the Express by far the best for hurling coverage.

I often buy the Offaly Express and the Tullamore Tribune.

Then the Offaly Independent is delivered free every week - why do they do this?

Some weeks I read the 3 of them.

So I should get some sort of award for supporting provincial journalism.

Tullamore tribune or offaly independent reader here! not for the news content all the same!!!

mainly for the sporting content although, there are weeks when both of them can be a bit rubbish at times though!

The Offaly Topic & Express are the most popular around Edenderry. The Topic is the most poorly edited paper you're ever likely to see and is generally a complete waste of €1.80 (or whatever it costs) but people including me still buy it nevertheless..

The Offaly Independent which we get free every week is a good newspaper and with it's increasing coverage of East Offaly news it could take off and do well.

Both the Offaly Express & Offaly Indo have excellent sports coverage..

As being in the Athlone catchment area, have to say the Indo does it for me!! Delighted a while back that they brought out the smaller size version, now you don't have to clear off the kitchen table to read it!!!

Although, some of the GAA journalism can be a bit dodgy!!!!!! :)

It varies between Offaly Express & Tullamore Tribune, generally whichever comes to hand.

The Midland Tribune is the staple diet around here. It’s generally good except for the ‘North Tipp Topics’, the pandering to Brendan Parsons and Derek Fanning’s accounts of climbing Kilimanjaro!

I have also recently discovered the Express online at http://www.offalytoday.ie following a link posted on a message here.

BTW, welcome back, BnMM. You're abscence has been noted around these parts of late.

Me neither. I live in Tullamore and other parts of the town seem to get it free
