Tipsters Competition - Round 11 and QF Results

Post by Lone Shark »

The luck of the draw was very clearly in evidence this week in the quarter finals of the Uíbhfháili.com tipsters competitions this week, as many competitors went by the wayside with decent scores while Corner back advances with a score of one point.

In a McCormack cup equivalent of a 1-2 to 0-3 thriller, a mere single tie breaker point makes all the difference as corner back moves on to the semi finals rounding off a miserable week for the top four seeds in the contest.

In the Regan Cup the hard luck medal must go reigning champion Fullback, who matched the 6 points of ManFromFerbane only to fall two points short on the tie break decider. As Such Ger was another unlucky loser with seven points, though I can’t imagine too many Tullamore heads are feeling too down about GAA results this weekend!

Paddy McCormack Cup

(1) Hurler in the Ditch (SCR) loses to ( 8 ) Mikey 8/34
(4) Treasurer 6/34 loses to (5) Hocker 8/30
(3) Hyper (SCR) loses to (6) Sparklin 8/28
(2) Clara Man in Exile 1/35 loses to (7) Corner Back 1/34

Daithí Regan Cup

(1) ManFromFerbane 6/32 beat ( 8 ) Fullback 6/34
(4) The Biff 8/35 beat (5) Offaly's Future 3/55
(3) As Such Ger 7/31 loses to (6) Juteman 8
(2) The Magpie 6 beat (7) Offalymanaway 3

This leaves the semi final draw as follows:

Paddy McCormack Cup

( 8 ) Mikey vs (5) Hocker
(6) Sparklin vs (7) Corner Back

Daithí Regan Cup

(1) ManFromFerbane vs (4) The Biff
(6) Juteman vs (2) The Magpie

Sparklin still on course for a glorious double, while we have a Clara derby in the second semi final of the Regan Cup. Most likely we’ll run these the weekend of the football final, depending on other fixtures.

And of course, the league continues as well. Most of the main protagonists had a good week, with 8 the top score all round. The Rat, Sparklin, Hocker and The Biff now have the four top spots, with Sparklin definitely well odds on now to hold, barring some prophetic like calling from the chasing pack.

I'll be out of internet range for a while so can I accede my semi final place to Clara man in exile. I feel he deserves it after our epic quarter final.

for the record:
Birr to beat kk in hurling by 7.
Shamrocks to beat tullamore by 4.
Edenderry ifc
Birr ihc
Brosna gaels jhc

Dan the man player of the year.
