Best of luck to Cathal, and makes sense while he is in college and might have a job down thereduring the Summer.

Presume the main reason he has not featured with offaly is due to injury or is he playing NUIG or their new name?

I think Longford at home will make it difficult for Offaly. I the recent league game, Offaly had a hard fought one point win. Could be a tense afternoon for Offaly folk.

Think it’s winner on the day

Offaly 1-12 Longford 1-11, hard place to go and win, well done on the win. Is it Meath up next and where?

Well done the boys along journey back to cork but worth it .
Pretty awful to watch at times but we got over the line
Meath will not be too worried but neither should we ..
Hopefully some of the injuries will have healed as well.
Great to see New York win it's good for the game
Shame the the same couldn't be said for London who
We're awful yesterday.
Have a good week πŸ‘

Great to get the win. Not too many championship wins in last 20 years or so. Meath next. We have nothing to fear there. At home I think its a 50 50 game even if they will be expected to win. They are no great shakes as their league form suggests and we have every chance. Hope the supporters come out in force for that game.

Firstly a brilliant win for Offaly today. Easy to be critical of the performance and all the usual things but I thought Offaly did what they had to do in a typical local derby championship game. We struggled at times to contain Darren Gallagher at midfield and Joe Hagan got 3 points from play too I think. Mickey Quinn was a growing influence on the game too. Longford will rue their number of wides today.

Enough about them. Our goalie and 6 backs were immense today. Absolutely brilliant defending at the end. Midfield just up against Gallagher and was always going to be difficult. Can’t fault any of our forwards either. Thought Jamie Evans was unlucky to be called ashore but he did enough for me to be a starter in two weeks.

But what a performance from Peter Cunningham. Unreal in every sense. His direct running and the pace he brought to the game. His work rate was just breathtaking. Take a bow tonight Peter πŸ‘πŸ‘. Might only be the first round v Longford but it sets us up nicely for a home game v Meath in two weeks.

Great weekend for Offaly in both codes.
