Teams from 3 of last nights Senior A games, courtesy of Offaly Express.
Haven’t yet seen anything from Rynaghs Tullamore.
Interesting to see Brian Carroll and Joe Bergin did in fact play parts for their teams in narrow losses.
James Mulrooney is said to have hurled right well for Seir Kieran, having looked all but retired 3-4 years ago after serious hip problems.

Was at the shinrone colderry game pretty huff and puff stuff.
Neither team would have scored a goal if they were still playing.
Gaa on Friday night is not venture we should be embracing also last night was bright enough but 2or 3 weeks time you could not hurl that late

I love a good mystery. A mysterious 'C' appears to have lined out at centre half-back for the champions. Sounds like one of those Brazilian soccer players. And four in the full-forward line. I wasn't there, but that could lead to bunching. But shur, they know themselves, I suppose.

Birr comfortably beat a poor Kinnitty team. But they wouldnt be too pleased with aspects of the performance. Kinnitty were on top from around the 40th minute but couldn’t get the scoreboard moving.
The game lasted 65 minutes and Birr didn’t score from the 50th. 15 minutes without a score in the latter stages will be fatal.
Kinnitty only managed 1-01 from play which is a real concern for them.
Emmet Nolan was sprung from the bench and looked lively.

Can somebody on here provide clarification on the rule in which clubs must provide a list of 18 players from the previous years team to play for this year's team . Does this potentially freeze players out of a year's hurling because new players coming out of underage or via transfer are now available for selection. I can see this being an issue in many clubs where players would have to essentially take a year out. Especially K/K this year

For the senior championship a team must provide a list of 18 players who hurled senior last year. These 18 are then only permitted with the senior team for 2023. Yes it will freeze players out and K/K are susceptible to this. In a big way.
For example if all 18 players named are available for selection this year and say Adam Screeney, Brecon Kavanagh, James Mahon and Dan Currams hurl Thursday week vs Kinnitty then K/K have 22 players who can hurl senior only. So in the BEST case scenario here 2 of them would seen ZERO game time on a given championship day.
K/K need to manage their resources carefully here to avoid some seriously disgruntled players.

Has this always been the case and has is it only came to light due to this scenario ? I’m not sure when this rule was introduced. It’s been in for maybe 5 years. It’s not a brand new one anyways.
I think the previous rule was that you could regrade 7(?) players that played the year previously. So if you used 20 lads in say 2014 only 13 would HAVE to play senior in 2015.

There is no other way around it. Most clubs can have issues doing it people going travelling retirements all come into play.
It's up to the clubs to figure out how they do it.
