Yep, but the previous meetings in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2011 were all Parnell Park if I recall correctly.allstar2010 wrote:Last meeting (u21) Leinster Final 2016 - OCP??Bord na Mona man wrote:Dublin next on Wednesday 26th. Parnell Park as usual.

Offaly travelled to play Dublin in Parnell Park in 2006, 2007 (Final) and 2011 in U21 hurling. (In 2008 Offaly played Carlow, Wexford and Kilkenny, while Kilkenny beat Dublin.)

Re: Leinster Under 20 Hurling Championship
Tbf, back then Dublin hurling was a developing entity so those sort of venue leg ups wouldn't have caused much angst.allstar2010 wrote:Oh really? 3 years in a row in Parnell Park!! F..k sake! Sums it up really.
No commentary on performance, matches , chances of a win etc , only pedantics regarding where the game is played.
I'd love to add something from the Carlow game but I wasn't there, and know very little about the lads except anyone I talk to that does know tells me they have worked very hard over the last few months.
Best of luck to mgt and players next Wed. Hopefully a few punters from Offaly can find a way to get to PP.

Re: Offaly U20s Hurling
Big game for the U20's tomorrow evening.
Just looked back at the results of this age group from minor to get a handle on the some of the Dublin team.
Dublin Results
Beat Laois by 3 points
Beat Wexford by 3 points
Lost to Kilkenny by 4 points
Beat Antrim by 15 points
Lost to Cork by 4 points
As for Offaly Results
Lost to Laois by 14 points
Beat Kildare by 6 points
Lost to Wexford by 7 points (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spysW9RuAxc)
If you were going purely through the numbers by these results 2 years ago, it's hard not to see Dublin winning by at least 10 points.
However with 2 games under their belts and with some momentum I think there's a chance of Offaly giving the Metropolitans a game here. The starting line-up only has 4 of the same players from the team that started against Wexford 2 years ago. And have clearly unearthed a few gems from the reports of the games so far. Not sure what Dublin have, could be a completely different 15 possibly considering their vast resources/players to choose from. Dublin haven't played a game yet though and are coming in cold.
Any one else any opinions?
Best of luck to the players and management.

Great piece of research Wing Back!
All we can hope for is a performance......a result would be some tonic.
All the best to everyone involved!!

Fantastic win, there is hope down the road. For all the negative talk about all the northern players in the team they didn't do too bad.
Is it Wexford next week in tullamore?

Re: Offaly U20s Hurling
Fantastic win by our U20's tonight. A win in Parnell Park is huge. What a boost for hurling in the county.
Interesting to note that originally when the fixtures were announced that both semi-finals were fixed for next Wednesday but upon checking leinstergaa.ie today Kilkenny vs Galway has been fixed for OCP for next THURSDAY with the Offaly/Dublin vs Wexford semi fixed for next Wednesday at a venue TBC which leads me to believe that the Offaly v Wexford game will be on in Tullamore. They seemed to have moved Galway vs Kilkenny just in case Offaly did beat Dublin. I hope this is the case anyways and I'm not reading way too much into it.

It mightn’t raise many eyebrows outside but That’s some lift for the county.
