Westmeath beat Kerry 3-26 to 2-10. Offaly had a bye in the last round so only played two games, beating Carlow by a big margin and losing to a good Westmeath team yesterday. It looks like we go into a Tier 2 competition now.

Interesting that our best two performers yesterday were from the east of the county, Joe Furey from Edenderry and Peter Fanning from Gracefield.

Exactly

He is an ego maniac. The school he is in pushed him aside from doing the harty senior hurling by all accounts. Great player in his day but unfortunately that doesn't always translate to other roles. He should stick to podcasting

There are ways to lose. Vs laois was an epic disaster. When your face superior opposition you don't go out man to man. You make some effort at setting up your team to win or at least compete.

As far as I know, that was either this year’s U18 group or this year’s U17 group without all their minor panelists last year. So all of their so-called better hurlers would have been missing. Counties like Offaly use the Celtic Challenge competition as a means of giving game time to weaker development squad panelists, so it’s very hard to read into results.

Usually kk at County level refers to kilkenny. Kilkenny win by 16 points.
Offaly bet meath in the 2nd tier competition by 19.

To be fair to Westmeath, they beat Dublin today and by all accounts it was very comprehensive.

We are on trouble with our underage teams.

We are lucky we had that under twenty team as otherwise we would still be in the Joe mcdonagh Cup

Whilst the talent might not be immense I still felt this group had more in them. By all accounts our Manager is more focused on his own ego at times than his players and a change would be a good move I think
