Must be a first. Assume cahill is involved, just not tomorrow. Conor clancy must be gone from the panel.

Fairly good performance today. Solid enough start. Just wondering, what is the criteria for entering the the different cups? Offaly and carlow in same championship and league but different cups. Surely carlow should be in walsh cup? They gave wicklow an awful hammering.

It’s fairly clear Offaly are a long way off competing at the top table again. Nowhere near good enough today against prob a Wexford 2nd string.

Relax. It’s only 2nd week of January. These aren’t the games we need to be winning. These are glorified challenge matches. We’re down a number of regulars too. I’d be happier if we’re beating Down, Kerry and Carlow in the league than beating Wexford in Walsh cup.
Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
I’m not talking about winning these games. I’m talking about how far off we are to challenging at the top again. Only 3 points in it today but hit a lot of bad wides and some players looked out of their depth. Good fighting spirit and the lads worked hard but hurling wise , we are a long way off.allstar2010 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 15, 2023 4:26 pmRelax. It’s only 2nd week of January. Offaly are a long way off and will be a long way off the top tier for about the next decade if not longer. Offaly might get to play liam McCarthy but it would be a sobering experience.

Couple lads way out of their depth so slow to do a basic things like strike a ball.
One person in particular was blocked in the first half way off the pace.

can understand your hesitance to name players but id be interested in hearing who you think is way off it? may be able to offer an alternative perspective is all. I think across the two games theres more to be positive about than negative. Is Leon Fox off the panel this year?

Leon is injured at the minute.
Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Parlon was way off the pace. He was bet after 10 mins. Not good enough to be there. Murphy very poor today also. Mitchell got some good scores, looks a tasty hurler. Delaney did a lot of work around the middle.

A win over Laois in the last game badly needed going into the league, get the confidence up.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Would it not dawn on some of ye geniuses that maybe the management took the opportunity to take a look at some players and see what they could do in a competitive environment?
Dammit, if you can't do that in the Welsh Cup, where can you do it?

Pat Donegan. Signed out of respect for players and all involved with Offaly.

I think Welsh rarebit would be our limit yesterday will soon be forgotten but I'm dreading this season
Anyone with a but of pace and strength can walk straight through us .
It's 10 years since our last meaningful run in the league
We are are as far away from that as ever .
Onwards and upwards but not sideways as we love to do
In Offaly has circles
