I've heard of great battles between Drumcullen and Coolderry in the Hurling. One was that a great running row broke out in Birr town one evening. It ended up in the Coolderry boys running away.

In the ninties another massive row broke out outside Melbas which again ended up in the Drumcullen lads winning.

If only they kept off the drink!!

I hadn't heard of anything intense between Drumcullen and Coolderry in recent years it has to be said - I've only heard second hand some of the hair-raising stories from the battles :!: from 40/50 years ago.

Clearly the spirit of "Your Grandad hit my Grandad" is alive and well anyway! :D
