On Saturdays game, wouldn't it be great if the County Board could align with Glenisk and offer promotions on Glenisk Yogurts like they did 2/3 years ago to entice the younger generation.

Giveaway of free jersey, togs etc based on a raffle.

Biggest game in years at Senior Level.

We need as much of a crowd in OCP as we can.

The chances of us qualifying for a Leinster Final are remote.

Among many things we need to happen include Galway beating Dublin, Kilkenny drawing with Dublin and us to beat Wexford and Kildare and depending on how much we win by it still might not be enough.

Amazingly if all those results we could finish 2nd, 3rd or 4th!! Tightrope stuff at the moment.

Take care of Saturday and see the lie of the land after that.

Kilkenny drawing with Dublin would potentially put us in 4th as we’re likely to have inferior goal difference. So a result in that game, we win our 2 games and we go in to preliminary all Ireland quarter final against one of the Joe McDonagh teams. A win there would set up us then for an Ireland final on the back of a 3 game winning streak.

Far better I think than a potential heavy ish defeat to galway in Leinster final.

Think the brakes need to be pressed on the hype train in the media a little bit. Wexford, even though playing poorly, have not been beaten by us in 14 years I believe. If they manage to beat us, they will play a Galway side who will no doubt be in a Leinster final anyways and surely not as motivated as them. They have been lucky in the past with these sort of scenarios.

I would be setting up the team to stop Lee Chin, obviously enough. I’d be saying if some of their forwards are to beat us, fair play, but not him. Jack O’Connor is obviously an outstanding hurler in his own right and I imagine the game-plan will centre around those two. Don’t let this turn into the Dublin game again where Donal Burke, from frees and from play, keep them in it.

If fit, Screeney goes back in for Mitchell. I thought Watkins done well, but I imagine that King and Ravenhill will come back in. Interesting to see what happens with Cahill and the frees.

Hopefully a huge crowd comes in, this team are playing at a level now that truly deserves it.

Totally agree with the idea of cooling it down. This is a great test for this team at the perfect time and should tell everyone a lot. The full focus needs to be on Wexford with no distractions down the road. The attitude for this game needs to be something like this:

Let’s tear into them. We haven’t beaten them in a while, but that needs to count for nothing. Let’s go!!!

Come on man keep up with the play :D
The Joe McD prelim 1/4 finals are a thing of the past.
3rd in Lenster plays Munster final loser in a straightforward 1/4 final game.

Agree, there is no place for any sort of hype here. I wouldn’t even mention a Leinster final or an All-Ireland quarter final yet. The important thing about a win on Saturday is that it means we are safe from a last day relegation fight against Kildare. Win and we can play with freedom on the last day, looking up. Lose and I think we will all be feeling the nerves in the pit of our stomach.
Everything I’ve seen about this group of players over the last few years would suggest we will bring a brave, tenacious performance on Saturday, let’s start with that and see where it takes us.

Anyways, I’m definitely not looking a second past Wexford on Saturday evening…….. or Kildare either for that matter.

Our biggest game in 20 years , really?

Correct me if I'm wrong
But in order to get to this position

lost v down in Christy ring semi final
Id consider that a big game

Christy ring final v Derry don't see how that's not considered as it got us back into Joe mcdonagh

Joe mcdonagh final loss v Carlow also a big game considering the importance

Then the Joe mcdonagh final v laois how important was that game

This is the biggest game since Antrim last year realistically because a loss There and it was a straight back down after 1 year

Id consider Dublin in the first round last year also a very big game

So lads are getting a little carried away

Should just stay calmly optimistic and not get ahead Wexford will be no walk overs, a bad beating by kk could have easily happened to anyone in nowlan park I wouldn't be judging that as a marker

Great to get the 2 draws but its GAA and you are only as good as your next game.
Heads down and focus as even if the Wexicans are not going great, by Jaysus would they love to put us back in our box. Plus this is their All Ireland as they are likely to beat Galway if they need to in the last game.

Offaly need to be careful about Wexford, there’s always a big performance in them. Especially when they’re going badly.

Normally that’s reserved for when they play Kilkenny. This year when they faced the Cats, they knew a spanking was inevitable for two reasons;
One - Galway had just given Kilkenny a hell of a beating, so a backlash was incoming.
Two - Wexford had a string of final day good results against understrength Kilkenny teams. So quietening noisy numbers was top of Kilkenny’s agenda.

I’d expect them to rejig their forwards a bit. Maybe start Jack O’Connor. Or if Cian Byrne is near fit, they’ll throw him on.
Anyway, it is a test for Offaly because now there is a greater expectation around the team.

Ravenhill King and Screeney in for Mitchell Spain and Watkins.

Harsh enough on Watkins imo, I’d have kept him in over Ravenhill
