Have been at quite a few games so far and there is no doubt there is talent out there. It's about whether they are asked in or even want to go in if asked. If you are looking to profile players and base lads on what most county teams look for at the moment which is size, athletisism and of course footballing ability then a few lads that have stood out in that regard so far are - Aaron Leavy, Bill Carroll, Jamie Evans, Cormac Delaney, Jack Fogarty, to mention a few.

Then in the younger bracket with lads 21 and under - Killian Bourke(Still very raw but huge potential) Harry Plunkett, Ross Kellegahan, Christopher and Ryan Kenny, Darragh Bates, Brian Carroll, Sean Conway, I'm sure there are more. Not saying any of these have really stood out but they are all playing senior A football, all 6ft or over and atheltic and all good footballers. Size has been a problem for us in recent years.
I posted the above on another thread in August last year.
Dara Bates has been arguably the u20s best player this campaign.
Killian Bourke is playing with the seniors now.
Christopher Kenny scored 12 points against Rhode in the last round of the league.

I'm on the train back to cork
I have never seen such a poor
Disjoined performance
If the ref had done his job
It could have been the worst performance of
An underage team
The only player to come out of credit
Is Meliá some good saves
The rest enough said

That’s what they get for treating some of the lads the way they did.
They thought they could do without them.
Their eyes were well and truly opened. Diarmuid O Neill with a bad injury and instead of trying to get him right they just drop him off the panel. Not surprising though with what was involved with the team.

I don't think anyone off that team has any immediate prospects of playing county senior bar maybe the goalkeeper.
However overall I think the u20s performed as expected. It wasnt a bad year for them. Lost to Dublin, Westmeath, beat a questionable Meath selection in a dead rubber(obviously wouldve lost to Meaths starting team) and beat Carlow. Offaly can't expect to compete with the likes of Kildare and Meath and Dublin at minor or u20 bar maybe the odd year where there's a particularly strong team. Those three counties have huge populations and the bigger the playing population you have the stronger calibre of player and more talent you're going to have. Especially at underage level. No amount of complaining about how "underage structures" are being ran will ever change that.
Even the year Offaly won the under 20 in 2021, the rules regarding senior and u20 players were different. Players couldn't play in both as is the case now. Meath and Kildare had some of their best u20s playing senior and not u20. Matthew Costello and Alex Beirne amongst others didn't play in the u20 championship despite being eligible.
