Johnny Kelly double jobs. He is manager of Nenagh Eire Og in the Tipperary SHC. Which clearly means he won't be getting to many Offaly SHC games to try and scout new talent.joe bloggs wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 12:12 amJohnny Kelly snd Co. wont be turning around next week to start preparing for a club campaign.bracknaghboy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 8:18 amSo would you have been OK if Johnny Kelly and his management team went on holidays this week and missed the All Ireland Hurling Preliminary 1/4 final?joe bloggs wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2024 11:14 pm
They have reached their target for the year. Its a long tine since they returned to training in November, so if they wanted a few days off fair play to them. They all have lives outside of the GAA. Have you had any holidays since the end of October? Next week the club managers will start calling on them.
Its a folly by the GAA having these preliminary quarter finals in all honesty, and this just proves it really
Let's say if he said he'd reached his target and wanted "a few days to himself".
Would you say "fair play to him"?
All of which is his prerogative of course.
Although in 2025 I would presume it would be impossible for a manager of a team who are competing in the Leinster SHC to also be the manager of a senior club team. I'm sure that will get ironed out in ample time.
