Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
I will watching on TG4 on my phone as a work project has me out in Chicago just now. But memories of Thurles last year will give me a small sense of what the craic is like in Kilkenny.
Have ye seen this on the former Twitter?

I showed it to a Tipp man working out here too. He shook his head and laughed at our expectations. He jokes of Tipp winning by 20 points. How I would love to laugh in his face next week.
Up the Faithful. Uibh Fhaili Abu. Best of luck to the team.

Team named.
Leigh Kavanagh back in for his brother Alex.
I’d expect Diggy Hand to start if fit, for Kavanagh or Egan.
I wouldn’t normally be one to read into these things, but the movement of Ravenhill from last on the extended panel list to first could be significant, given the rumours that Leo O’Connor has been trying to persuade him to hurl, despite telling the media that Ravenhill has a serious hamstring injury and is a long way from being fit.
I hope for the young lads sake that he isn’t put at risk.
Far more confident that last year.
I hope to God we beat them.
Best of luck to all.
Up Offaly!

No one tipperary thinks they'll win by 20 points. It's a 50/50 gameThe Biff wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 8:25 pm I will watching on TG4 on my phone as a work project has me out in Chicago just now. But memories of Thurles last year will give me a small sense of what the craic is like in Kilkenny.

The way Leo was speaking in his interview the other day sounded as if he was leaving open the possibility of Ravenhill playing some part.faithfulfanatic wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 8:32 pm Team named.

He said that the type of injury he has usually takes 16 weeks to recover from but he could do it in less. I certainly won’t be shocked to see him on the bench, even just as a smokescreen to occupy the minds of the Tipp management.
I’d wonder if Diggy has 60 minutes in him, might be better off bringing him in with 20 minutes left.

I wouldn't read into things that much either but in both senoir and under 20 has me pondering, David nally back on the subs v Down,
Ravenhill top of the list must mean something

What difference does your placing on the extended panel make? There's a fair bit of work to be done to get a lad onto a match day panel after it's been submitted.

Suppose anyone can be "sick" but I don't think doctors associated with these teams (inter county gaa) would tolerate that type of messing tbh these days..
Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Well that's what i mean why put his name top of the list it's just a bit odd the extended pannel normally stays the same

At senior level, teams now name their panel of 26 by the specified time and are allowed to have 3 lads on ‘standby’.
I’d imagine u20 is the same.

Exactly, one of the subs could get “injured” in the warm up and voila…faithfulfanatic wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 9:51 pm At senior level, teams now name their panel of 26 by the specified time and are allowed to have 3 lads on ‘standby’.

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Best of luck to the team and management the very best of luck tomorrow. Play with the heads and have a look up as much as possible. Crucial that we use the ball as well as possible to exploit the space and give inside line a chance.
Lot of discussion on bandwagons. All I'd ask is that those who attend , please don't be too nervous about shouting to support the lads. Jeez, with all due respect there'd be more noise at the back of the church back in the day than from the crowd in Portlaoise.
Enjoy the day, but as Duignan says , all that matters is the match and the result. Everyone needs to turn up in time and get in and support the players, and make it bit more enjoyable for all. Plenty of time for the extra pints over the rest of the weekend.
We'll need to trust the bench a little more today, occasion and heat and nerves will leave a lot of energy expended coming down the stretch.
Massive test today and as I said, playing with the heads is criticial.
Best of luck.
