Offaly vs Tipp it is. A rematch of the 2022 minor final in the same ground.

Cork were robbed and I wouldn’t be terribly fearful of this Tipp side particularly with McCormack out injured.

So this is a rematch of that final a year early so to speak , the lads who were in there final year minor in 22, are still underage for u20 next year.

Cork can only blame themselves. Too many wides. Ok they should have been awarded a goal as Tipp goalie caught ball and somehow fumbled into the top of the net but bad mistake from cork defence to gift Tipp their goal.

Anyhoots it’s Tipp and we’ll see how that plays out………

I note it’s an all ticket game which will stop the fiasco of two years ago where they sold tickets without accounting for the avalanche of U16s and then had to retrospectively put in place a cap on the amount of tickets they could sell.

I’d expect it to sell out alright.

I've normally no beef with Cork but I chuckled at Ben O'Connor's sour head at the end of that match.

Delicious irony that his lads were undone by umpires with eyesight problems...

I'm sure Cormac Egan thought the same......im notva Tipperary lover. Far from a lover of Tipperary, but not sorry to see the back of Ben O'connor for another year.

For the first time ever, I found myself shouting for Tipp this evening.
Partly because of last years antics from Cork, partly because Cork looked the better side this evening and mostly because I want our lads to beat Tipp!

Cork looked very athletic and strong and ran at Tipp at every opportunity.
Tipp were far more direct. The full back line always tried to turn on to their right side and belt the ball as long and as high as possible into their forwards.
And in fairness, they were very good in the air and their forwards looked very dangerous.
16 cork wides to 7 Tipp wides.

Very hard to feel sorry for Cork at all.

Tickets on sale Monday.
Gaelic Grounds holds 44,000.
I know it’s fixed for Nowlan Park and a done deal, but Limerick would make a lot more sense.

Now I despise Tipp, from seeing the nasty timber merchants of the early sixties to the sneering Loughnane but cannot feel sorry for Cork;
Last year they had a plan. Right from the start a big lump of a midfielder took station beside Sreeney and took him out the first time the sliotar came near---- They also tried to injure other Offaly players that day, so maybe that fat blind whiskey faced umpire was getting revenge or he might have laid a top on a Tipp win !!!!!!!
I do hope that officials protect players on Saturday and should they be given a reminder======

Not a bit sorry for Cork and Ben O’Connor after their tactics in the 2023 Final vs Offaly. It was a goal at the end, but some you get and others you don’t get.
Tipperary will be formidable opposition on Saturday night. Offaly lads will have to avoid any late drop in performance as in the last two games.
