Best hurling pitch in the county

Post by Dodge83 »

Not sure if this has been done before but I’m curious to hear what people think on this matter. And O’Connor park does not count. I’m taking about club grounds only!! And facilities has nothing to do with it either. Playing surface only

Best club pitch I’ve ever seen during good weather is Crinkle, it can be like the carpet on Croke Park when the weather is fine.
Best club pitch I’ve seen to hold up well in bad weather and is almost always playable is Lusmagh.
Favourite? Rath or Moystown

St Rynaghs pitch in banagher must be one of the worst.

The slope into the stand is shocking.

It's unreal how the pitch is legal at all.

Walk it from June to September better than anywhere.

When the real hurling is played.

The goal mouth is on the pitch !! I agree, hate astroturf goal mouth. Birr is a nice pitch but definitely not the best. For me it’s Kilcormac or Crinkill. Rath is up there too.
