I'd say 3 wins out of 5 would be expected, maybe four. To win all five would be an excellent league.

The Down and Kerry games, both away look like the big tests for Offaly hurlers. They need to win the home games.

Surely that Kerry game is in Tralee?

And why aren’t we playing a home game in Birr?

Kerry game is in Killarney as part of a double header with an NFL fixture involving Kerry footballers.

And presumably the hurling people of South Offaly would never go to watch Derry, Carlow and/or Kildare.

Nothing simple apart from Derry.

Big test away to Down.

Carlow and Kerry will have ambitions of winning league.

We need to finish in top two.

We'll beat Derry, down and Kildare.

It's two of ourselves kerry and Carlow.

County team playing in the county grounds. I'd say the main reason would be the reliability of the pitch in Birr to be playable at that time of year.

I'll start the official Birrometer.
Number of days since fella's are calling for intercounty games to be moved to Birr:

And we are confident of beating Carlow??? If we have a stronger squad than last few years yes we might, I don't hear any new kid on the block that will be the difference, getting one or two back that weren't involved last year is vital if we are to have any hope of reversing defeats such as Carlow last summer etc..Kerry, Carlow and Down will be the hardest games, I think we can beat Down but won't be putting guaranteed money on Carlow or Kerry games..goals against the other teams in the division will be got, but scoring 0-25 and not scoring goals isn't convincing, and I don't want to hear this ould lark as long as we win, yes important but if you can't score goals against so called weaker teams, you certainly won't score them against the stronger teams or better opposition, the opposition then will bang in 4 or 5 goals and our points tally will fall back to late teens or thereabouts and let the stronger opposition tag 22/3 points o to the 4/5 goals and then we are into "hiding" territory..

Third in the league.

Third in Joe Mc Donagh.

How would we rate that as a year

I think if people were realistic those results would be pribably par for this group of players.

Fare from the championship wouldn’t proffer great expectations for the upcoming year. Rynaghs have one lad from a 3 in a row winning team invovled.

just one or two above were only mentioning Down and Kerry as our toughest games...Carlow deserve to be in that bracket too...
