Re: 2020 Co Finals
I think they are waiting for the full road map from the GAA once all the intercounty games are fixed and played then this years club kicks in, Offaly are looking at fitting in last years unplayed finals prior to commecing the 2021 championships which are officially to run from September onwards..I think counties knocked out to the intercounty earlier can resume club earlier, so Offaly could be beneficaries of that scenario unfortunately...

Re: 2020 Co Finals
As soon as the hurlers are finished (latest date this would be is last weekend of July) then you have to think the 2020 finals will be 2 weekends after this. Maybe even the following weekend. Then get 2021 championships up and running as quickly as possible because a winter lockdown of some sorts could be on the cards. Which is absolutely ridiculous but that’s for another day.

Agree about another possible lockdown. We have been told this current lockdown is the last, I think people won’t buy another lockdown, 5th in Co. Offaly. Let NPHET and the HSE, get the vaccination programme completed.
Re: 2020 Co Finals
there will surely be a date for some these soon? in football junior B & C only at last 4 stage, various hurling games at all levels still to be played for the 2020 year

Re: 2020 Co Finals
2021 Senior Hurling Championship starts on weekend of 27th - 29th of August and group stages runs until 22nd - 24th of October.
Re: 2020 Co Finals
I know senior games will be dependent on inter county but i would have thought at lower levels the priority would be to just get them played off as soon as possible and the concentrate on 2021 season in as many codes and levels as possible.
Re: 2020 Co Finals
doesnt seem to be any reference to 2020 competitions on the offaly gaa website actually

Bit farcical that last year’s championships at lower levels arent being played now. What’s the hold up?

Possibly players involved doing the leaving cert.frankthetank wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 12:48 pm Bit farcical that last year’s championships at lower levels arent being played now. What’s the hold up?
Also by delaying until July more supporters will be allowed to attend.

Pretty sure it was passed a few years ago that LC students can’t hold up adult championships. Which is only fair and right.joe bloggs wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 2:57 pmPossibly players involved doing the leaving cert.frankthetank wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 12:48 pm Bit farcical that last year’s championships at lower levels arent being played now. You could be right about that ruling being made, however it was most likely never envisaged that an adult co final could be played in June.frankthetank wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 7:33 pmPretty sure it was passed a few years ago that LC students can’t hold up adult championships. It could very well be at junior level that one of the best players on the team would be a 19 year old leaving cert student.

Re: 2020 Co Finals
Updated 2020 Hurling Final Schedule:
Intermediate Final, Coolderry vs Shinrone in St Brendan's Park, Saturday August 14th at 4pm
Senior B Final, Drumcullen vs Kinnitty in O'Connor Park, Saturday August 14th at 2pm
Senior A Final, Kilcormac / Killoughey vs St Rynagh's, Saturday August 14th at 6pm
Right now if I was Michael Duignan I would be fighting tooth and nail to get an increased attendance into O'Connor Park for the Senior A Final. If Catherine Zappone can bring whoever she likes to the Merrion Hotel then a 20,000 stadium can surely allow in 4,000 people. It's actually farcical at the moment what is going on with games and the very limited attendances. 25,000 in Croke Park.....what a joke.
