yeah, I suppose once you avoid a bigger team, it is a chance to build on the Meath performance, are we home or away, missed the start of the draw...

They did run Galway close enough so we would want to be on our game from the start.

It is not a sure thing for Offaly.

Agree, does not take a long memory to prove the point accurate.

Wasn't it something similar when they came to Tullamore 3 years ago?
I think they fly in that morning, get it out of the way then back that evening for an almighty piss up in downtown London

20 euro to get in on Saturday, bit on the steep side for a round 1 game.

The Meath game was around the the same, we just have to cough up.

20 mins without scoring in the first half is a worry. How a couple of forwards lasted as long as they did on the field was amazing.
John Maughan clearly has 15 players in mind and no chance of certain lads being dropped. I do think he is doing a decent job and there were many decent performances and it was a solid win.
But there was a lot of sloppy play and crazy turnovers which would be punished on another day by stronger team.

However a win is a win and it will be another boost in confidence, so enjoy the win lads and onwards to the next round.

Went as expected really. I've been critical of Anton in the past but both today and against Meath he really has been excellent. Panda had one of them days where everything he touched turned to gold....the complete opposite to his Meath performance! Cunningham and Carroll were not overly involved and Horan was a bit disappointing again (seems to be struggling to live up to the hype that surrounded his arrival). Niall Mc worked really hard out there and it's great to see during the week he stated he wants to keep going as as long as possible now so another 2 or 3 years would be great as the likes of maybe Johnson getting a chance hopefully to bed in during that time.
Defensively there a were a few worrying moments where lads seemed to switch off and one has to think if London were a bit more adventurous they would have caused us plenty more problems. That said they looked like they came to keep the score down.

Look it was a decent win and when you think that Galway struggled to put them away it's even more promising. Offaly's main strength is the ability to break out of defence with fast runners off the shoulder and they can exploit any team they turn over. No fear for next Mondays draw I'd be confident these lads will give a good account of themselves. Maughan seems to be getting a lot right with this group.

Next round draw in the morning against a beaten provincial semi-finalist
Home draw against Sligo or Limerick would be ideal or Clare or even Laois I suppose
Wouldn’t fancy a trip to Castlebar/Omagh/Newbridge or Armagh

If Offaly draw any of them teams they will have home advantage because offaly are a division 3 team, Limerick would be the ideal draw for us
