Why do we not have a senior hurling manager appointed?
I personally think it's a joke that we do not have a senior hurling manager appointed, we are at the semi final stage in club senior championship! u21 county final played? Should the county board have not appointed the manager early get speculation out of the way and let them get on with their work and look at players for next year.
Why are we always so far behind other teams?

Maybe they can't get anyone to take it. I'd love to know the real reasons E Kelly left.

Pure speculation on my behalf. But with recent steppung down of a club manager in offaly, I get the feeling that offaly mgt next year will have a very distinct western feel to it.

You can't rush these things.
Is there anything to be said for another committee?

I don't think this is the case. I won't be at the county board meeting tonight so I rang to check and see if there was likely to be any breaking news, and was told that no, the process is ongoing and some potential candidates are being spoken to, but there is no final decision and certainly no confirmation of details.allstar2010 wrote:Manager and backroom team to be announced tomorrow
Kevin Egan. Signed out of respect for players and all involved with Offaly.

Are you sure they are not just trying to fob you off LS? I heard that they were considering having the parents of the players become coach for a week, each week of the season. A good way to keep expenses down as players can carpool and have their Mommy's pick up the petrol tab. Also, each week the Mommy's would bring cupcakes and oranges for all after practice and not have to deal with catering bills.Lone Shark wrote:I don't think this is the case. I kind of like the idea - let's see how it goes and let's get Offaly participating again, which after all is the main thing... that and keeping expenses down.

If they did all their training in Birr it would be closer to the hurling areas too- would surely save on petrol expenses.llkj wrote:Are you sure they are not just trying to fob you off LS? Birrs pitch is too nice too hold training sessions in the winter months....
But our new faithful fields looks top class that's where all training will be...fair play to the sub committee who made it happen!!
