Possibility (a strong one, too) that Offaly will be hurling Leix in OCP the following day. It would be logical that Leix will enquire about the possibility of a double-header. With feeling - NOOOOO!

Westmeath would be unlikely to be in Tellamore (though that is not certain). Leix definitely would be.

According to Leinster gaa website the fixtures are as follows. I was unaware that both qualifier group teams would get home advantage? Does home/away arrangement go out the window?

O Moore Park, Portlaoise (3.30) - Laois v Offaly
Cusack Park, Mullingar (3.30) - Westmeath v Wexford

Westmeath have a much better score difference than Laois, 16 points to 5 after the round robin games. Why are Laois group winners?bracknaghboy wrote:According to Leinster gaa website the fixtures are as follows. I was unaware that both qualifier group teams would get home advantage? 2 way tie determined by head to head result.
3 way tie by point differential.
Interestingly Antrim went down to Christy Ring because Carlow beat them.
Congrats to Carlow and Old Yellar on that one.

Jaysus that fixture is fraught with danger. Portlaoise, against a team we beat in the league, but who have now had 3 decent championship games under their belt. We'd want to be seriously firing for that one. To be fair Westmeath in Mullingar would have given me similar heebie jeebies, but Laois will really feel they've lucked out by getting another shot at us.

Agree AZ, both those teams have games under their belts against decent competition.azoffaly wrote:Jaysus that fixture is fraught with danger. Laois will be super motivated to 'put things right' from their perspective.
Hoping our preparations are going well. We can do it. Up the Faithful!!!
