Micheal also has kept the program from each match he has gone to,I would say there is no other collection anywhere out there like it.He is an honorary member of Club Faithful a club he is proud to be part of.He now has a friend from Walsh Island sorry cant think of his name now that is with him at a lot of the matches. Micheal is also a follower of club games in Offaly only Friday night he was at Tullamore v Kinnitty game and I see him at a lot of other grounds in Offaly no matter who is playing.

I saw Mick McDonagh on last night's 'Nationwide', he was in the back ground during a feature on Br. Kevin's shelter for homeless people in Dublin. He was in the background briefly, moving among the poor people affected by the recession/austerity, availing of the services provided by the good Brother and his staff.

Great article about Mick. Great to see him get the recognition he deserves. Especially in these poor years for both the hurlers and footballs Mick's loyalty is still as strong to the faithful cause

Anyone know about crowd funding? Wouldn't it be a great way to try and finance his trip to New York

I for one would donate something if this ever took off. For a man that has no Car and relies on lifts/public transport - fair fecking play to him. Would love to see his collection of programmes.

All Offaly supporters (myself included) could take his positivity on board.

And a final note, a lot of "posters" on here could take his advice when he said - He will be shouting at them during the match but when the whistle goes, Win, Lose or Draw he will be on the field patting them on the back. At the end of the day they give up their time and social life to represent our county.

Fair play to Mick. Look forward to seeing him on the Sunday game all summer!

Despite the world games currently on show at UCD’s Belfield campus, another club with strong Offaly roots is making great strides in developing the game of hurling in Perth, Western Australia. Sarsfields Hurling Club WA are competing in the final of the most hotly contested championship in Australia this Saturday with no fewer than 10 Offaly men togging out on the day, many of whom represented Offaly at different grades throughout the years. Birr, Brosna Gaels, Lusmagh & St.Rynaghs all have representatives hurling on the day. For those interested you can find out more by visiting Sarsfields Hurling Club website http://www.sarsfieldshurlingperth.com/ or 'Like' their Facebook page to find their most up to date news. https://www.facebook.com/SarsfieldsHurlingClubWA/ Check out their player profiles to see do you recognize any of themhttp://www.sarsfieldshurlingperth.com/player-profiles/. The very best of luck guys!!
