Re: Man in Offaly jersey
I got a peek at the classified and never before seen section of the Zapruder film.
There was Mick McDonagh wearing his Offaly jersey and standing on the Grassy Knoll in Dealey Plaza when JFK got shot.

Surely theres one of you technologically advanced enough to create some sort of Photoshop image (John Terry-esque) of this man at these big events
I'd do it myself only I've no access to the internet

I'm nearly positive but didn't Smokey himself help Hitler load the gun that he used to kill himself in the underground bunker in Berlin. Rumour has it he done a line with Eva Braun before the invasion of Poland and was the man that actually introduced the couple at a bbq at the Pull inn.
Re: Man in Offaly jersey

Searched this post out when this thread re-appeared.Oceans 15 wrote:He hates Westmeath.... I seen him on TV about 6/7 years ( maybe more) ago he was behind the goals in Pearse Park in Longford when W/meath were playing Longford in the Championship decked out in his Offaly Jersey. He was going mad clapping anytime Longford scored.
I met him on the street in Tullamore a week later and said to him jaysus you were doing some shouting for Longford I seen you on the TV....his reply was............."fookin sure"
Very funny!!!!
Kevin Clancey. Signed out of respect for players and all involved with Offaly.

Right behind the RTE panel in the post match analysis, even when the camera tried to focus on the panel, Mick stuck to his spot.Buttons wrote:He found his way to McHale Park, probably couldnt watch any hurling after what he saw yesterday

If you follow the link here to 45 seconds, you will see a very young Michael McDonagh cheering wildly as bebeto scored in the 1998 quarter final, Brazil versus Holland, the Brazillians won 3-2....

Can you imagine the amount of thumbing, trains, boats, lifts on a whale etc he had to get in order to get to that game.
A great GAA supporter, A tip of my hat to you Michael.

A few years ago he always had a friend with him, also decked out in the Offaly jersey. Who was that fella? Has he retired?

Is that serious or is it a wind-up? Hard to believe half the stuff on this thread. Could they not have shared it?Killeighman wrote:That was Tom Cunningham. The two boys fell out over the supporter of the year award
When they make a Hollywood blockbuster about his life they wont be able to resist using the line: 'This terrace ain't big enough for the both of us.'
