Re: shannonbridge /doon
A wise man in a pub once said to me "don't ever believe what someone in a pub tells you".jamserdolan wrote:there seems to be this immalgumating talk around the shannonbridge/doon parish that people are wanting the two teams to join because both clubs cant field a team . but there seems to be a rift between both clubs since due to a dispute in shanonbridge pub between both managers and also rynaghs dont want the clubs to immalgummate because they will be a powerfull force . do you think that this will happen ?
Well Jammers, what do you think? Was he telling the truth?

What's 'immalgumating'? Is that something to do with the prevention of infectious deseases?

Re: shannonbridge /doon
I was talking to a cousin of a friend of a lad who foots Donnie Ryan's turf and he said that Jimmy Saville was at it the whole time but the authorities turned a blind to it.

Jamser
I know there is a Shannonbridge Parish
but since when did Doon becoma a Parish ?????????????
The Parish of Lemonaghan & Ballinahown: Includes Erin's Rovers, Ballycumber, Doon & the bit in Westmeath (Mark Rohan's base), as well as a Hurling Club.
Should the Bridge not amalgate with the Seven Churches and High Street as they did for many years ?

Re: .
talk of a leamonaghan parish team.... jeeze that'll do down like a lead balloon!!!!
Doon & Pullough are already amalgamated at underage level, and the same with Ballycumber and Tubber.
The Brosna Gaels model is no doubt a thorn in the side of those against a parish team in Ballycumber, Doon & Pullough!
