We could do with more lads from the Mid South Eastern region of the county.

you should subscribe to 'Midlands sport' radio on facebook and/or twitter. they are great for updating scores on the matches, most of the time they will do this throughout the game. From that source tonight:

Leinster Minor League FT - Offaly 3-6 Dublin 1-12

Finished up Offaly 3-6, Dublin 1-12. Very good game, high tempo, Offaly started really well but fell away after a quarter of an hour, went from 1-4 to 0-2 up to 1-4 to 1-6 down by early in the second half. Came back well to lead by a goal but Dublin had a lot of good players to keep their team fresh and by the end the result could have gone either way. Both sides will take a lot from it.

Team:

Conor Clancy; Aaron O'Connell, Jordan Quinn, Seán Moriarty; Luke Kelly, Eoin Carroll, Darragh Corbett; Ciarán Cahill, Conor McNamee; Joe Maher (0-1f), Eoghan Lowry (0-1f), Mark Kirwan (0-1); Johnny Kavanagh, Peter Cunningham (1-3, 1-0 pen), Richie Reynolds (2-0).

Subs: Shane Lawless for Maher, Ruaidhrí McNamee for Kavanagh, Declan Byrne for Corbett.

offaly minors

offaly minor footballers drew with dublin lastnight but were totally outclassed at midfield where they used 6 different mid fielders over the hour

Wouldn't necessarily agree with that assessment. There was a lot of changing around, but it is minor league and understandably players will be tried in different positions. Most of the lads that featured there contributed in different ways.

Overall Offaly lost out on Dublin kickouts, but a lot of those were short or targetted kickouts to men running from wing positions, neither Dublin midfielder had a massive bearing on the game. It just demonstrated the value of controlling possession and not just raffling it down the middle.

Is that John Ryan from Shannonbridge over them...or did someone get the job by piggy backing in on John's name?!

John Ryan of Birr. I wasn't at the interview process, so I can neither confirm nor deny that it was a case of mistaken identity.

So how'd you get started at the goalkeeping yourself?
