Anyone know why Ballycumber had to play Clara and Rhode, Edenderry? According to the table it should have been Rhode V Clara and Bally V Edenderry?

Thats after last nights results... It was Rhode, Ballycumber, Clara, Edenderry before the games last night... 1st plays 4th etc etc. Two surprising results all the same

Gracefield finished bottom and usually they would be relegated. However im just wondering seen as Rhode intermediates are in Division two final will this possibly change things? If rhode win, will Ferbane and Gracefield have a playoff due to Rhode already having a team in Division one??

Ballycumber: Division 1 and Division 3 Champions! Fair Play to them. Maybe they will be able to ressurect ther championship season now.

Ferbane also claimed Division 2 last night. This would suggest that Gracefield will be playing in the second tier next year.

Surprised no mention here of incident mentioned on Morning Ireland today. Ballycumber official allegedly struck a 17yo Edenderry player in what was described on Edenderry website as "cowardly act". Surprised it made the national airwaves

Heard it on radio 3 this morning seemingly the chap has a broken tooth and another one cracked he must have got a bad belt!
Anyone at it what exactly happened?
This is not the kind of news that anyone wants to hear!

I wasn't at the match but I know it was being recorded so hopefully there will be video evidence to clarify exactly what did or didn't happen.

There is no question of whether it did or didn't happen i did happen fact.balluycumber are prob one of the cleaner football teams in the county it takes a bit of gloss of what has been a great few days for bally.the individual involved has previous and should be ran.he is only a blow in and should be suspended from bally straight away.

It certainly happened all right and all sorts of shit is hitting the fan. The guy in question has resigned from Ballycumber and apologised to the player and family. Whether this was accepted I don't know. As a previous contributor said, the guy has previous and is probably better off away from football for his own sake. Took a shine off what was a very entertaining game of football. What the semi final v Clara and final v Edenderry proved was how stupid offaly were to disgard Colm Quinn so early. The guy was the outstanding player in both games. He was also the outstanding no.10 in last years championship.

The Irish Independent this morning stated that the Gardaí are waiting on a report to be submitted. It may not be as simple as an apology and a GAA suspension yet.
