Minor Hurling vs Wexford

Post by faithfulman »

The minor hurling panel might be in disarray and management might be clueless or whatever but lookit best of look to the lads in wexford today. Cant imagine there will be a whole lot making the journey to support them? any word on the team?
He is so bad in goal he needs the net in front of him.

Yes, best wishes to all the lads today. Wexford are strong. Lethal inside line and a centre forward that's an excellent player and free taker- one of the guineys sons. But their backs aren't as good so Offaly need to punish them here every chance the get. Maybe the lack of talk about them will se them slip in under the radar and pull off a surprise. We re hurling wicklow, should be a win for us, and we play the loser of today's game.

Goin to answer my own question here. The things you here when you head down town for the paper!!!
1. C. Clancy (Rynaghs)
2. E. Grogan (K/K)
3. S. Gardiner (Lusmagh)
4. S. Connolly (Coolderry)
5. S. Lyons (Rynaghs)
6. K. Kiely (K/K)
7. E. Hayes (Birr)
8. J O'Connor (Rynaghs)
9. E Mannion (Rynaghs)
10. A. Connolly (Coolderry)
11. N. Wynne (Rynaghs)
12. ??? (Sorry, only heard a few min ago cant remember for the life of me)
13. Geraghty (K/K)
14. J. Sampson (Shinrone)
15. Geraghty (K/K)

Few strange decisions, Gardiner full back, Mannion midfield? Both good hurlers but i for one never seen them play in them positions. I hear this Kiely kid is the next big thing but to start centre back at the age of 15? Big ask of the lad, well anyway best of luck to the lads!

Another "big thing" emerging out of Kilcormac!!! Now there's a shocker.

I wonder is he along the lines of Mark Hand and Jimmy Doyle in the "big thing" stakes or will he make the grade at a serious level?

Saw him a few times last year and is a good hurler but sin é.

Kiely was 3 v us in league. Was excellent in fairness to him. Makings of a fine hurled.

3-5 to 1-6 in favour of Wexford is the latest score.

not a bad result, considering the stories going around about this bunch of players and the fact that it was in wexford. however, unfortunatly a loss is a loss. from what i have seen there are certainly a few lads who could make it with the senior team in the future if the booze and social life dont get the better of them!! clancy, keily and sampson are strong hurlers, but its often we see great minors who turn out to be average adult hulers and visaversa. who were the standout lads today?? any word on who we have in the next round??

Playing Carlow next up, who had a good win over Wicklow today, 3-22 to 0-5. If I'm not mistaken then we play the loser of Wexford vs Dublin.

You weren't mistaken but they've changed the lineup!! Winners on Saturday now play the losers of Kilkenny/Westmeath.

I see Paddy Power are 1/8 Offaly for this match and 5/1 Carlow. I hope their confidence is correct, I'd be lying if I said I shared it to that extent.

we played them in the league a few weeks ago and won well, but that was the league, we ran wexford to the wire so i think we should
have enough to beat carlow bye 3 to 5 points, but i wouldn't put my house on it. :?
