Re: UP SKENAGH !!!!!!!!!!
I was at the league semi so I missed it - twelve nine sounds like a fairly sloppy day all right.
How was the game?

Not handling any Hymacs today then I hope.... we wouldn't want to see the entire of Roscrea's water supply to be cut off due to a pipe being inadvertently struck....hymacpilot wrote:IT WAS THE BEST CONDITION I EVER SAW SHINRONE PITCH IN THEY SHOULD GET MORE BIG MATCHS.

Fair play to Skenagh. Was at the game. some heavy tackles flying in, but was a very fair game. Was the first time was ever at a game in Shinrone- and I was impressed. Its good for Offaly hurling to see Skenagh going up.

Super weekend, very proud day. Fair play to all the lads, they worked hard all year and deserve every bit of it.

Well done Ballyskenagh, it's good to see a small rural hurling club doing well.
Just for pig-iron, can someone please confirm that the club's name is spelt with a 'g', and not a 'c'?

Re: UP SKENAGH !!!!!!!!!!
Even within the club you'll find it hard to get agreement on the "g" or the "c" POTH. Irish speakers tell us the pronunciation means it has to be a "c" but some very old maps that appeared in a book on the locality show the "g". If you got everyone in the club to write the name, I'd say you'd see a split down the middle.Plain of the Herbs wrote:Well done Ballyskenagh, it's good to see a small rural hurling club doing well.
