There will be a new name on the McCormack Cup this year after Hocker made his exit. The reigning champion won't have too many complaints however, as only getting two points this week wasn't the kind of return needed. Rocket57 on the other hand, can feel very hard done by. Only two people of all the entries this week beat eight points and Swiftpost was one of those two.
Mighty Pair O'hands is a previous cup winner on the other hand and is now only one step away from his second Regan Cup. After beating the Treasurer in the semi final (a repeat of a previous final!), another hurling country poster lies in wait in the final - step up Beirut, who had a little bit to spare in a 7-2 win over Aweflee.
One round left in the league, and realistically there are four posters in with a shout. D Corner Flag holds the lead with a bit to spare over Muck Savage, but Swiftpost and Rynagh's Biffo have both brought themselves into the race with ten point tallies this week. Anyone else will probably need to hit a Hail Mary of some sort in the final week. Which happens, as Plain of the Herbs and myself can both testify.
