Great to see championship kicking off again.
Bit of a dubious decision from LS to call Belmont underdogs against Shinrone after the beating they gave Rynaghs in the league last weekend, maybe he's playing mind games with the Shinrone boys.
Would also have thought that Lusmagh/Drumcullen was a 50/50, especially given the amount of players Lusmagh have lost since last year and Drumcullens decent run in Leinster League.
St.Rynaghs/Shamrocks should be very close. Shamrocks almost beat them last year & have been going well enough this year judging by results & beat K/K well in the league. A lot will depend on the Rynaghs reaction to their U-21 demise.
Tullamore will never get a better chance than against a Birr team with interim management but it's still hard to see them getting the win. Birr only returned to training last weekend so will be interesting to see how sharp they are.
There's also one high profile injury that will have a major impact on one of the 50/50 games, have just heard it at work but haven't heard it for definite from anyone in the club so keep the ears to the ground.

I'd say Shinrone are hugely worried about what I think all right. Still, seriously, Shinrone beat Clareen and just failed to beat Birr last year, Belmont had a nightmare year and barely avoided the drop. Put a load of store in one league win if you want, but just as Belmont were beating Rynaghs Shinrone were doing the same to Kinnitty. I don't doubt that Belmont are in relatively good shape, but they've a huge amount of improvement to do just to get back up to middle of the road in this championship.

Likewise I think Drumcullen have been so far off the pace for so long, that even if they have got four or five points better and Lusmagh have got four or five points worse, I'd still fancy Lusmagh. It was a close call though.

I agree on Shamrocks though.
