westmeath in a deserted croker 19 june. surely a coing toss for mullingar or tullamore would be a logical move? and attract a bigger crowd. and be way more convenient for people ? instead of going up to that over priced kip of a city.

A logical move, but never going to happen.

I think with the minors playing the 18th getting to the two games will be difficult for most. It’s not only the cost of tickets but travel food and then being away from family for the 2 days.

Seen on twitter earlier that either side of Nialler at the weekend jack and Keith were a combined age of 2 when Niall Mc made his Offaly debut. Some player and still has it.

For those making a call between attending one of the Minor hurling or the football (which is perfectly reasonable), bear in mind one is an All-Ireland semi-final and one is a tournament.

Pat Donegan. Signed out of respect for players and all involved with Offaly.

For those of you who have to make a choice, bear in mind its your choice!

Choose to go would be a start! More often than not its the choice not to go.

But don't feel guilty just because you can't get to both of them.

Does anyone know how the long term injured are getting on, any sign of them training for the club championship. These would be
Cian Farrell
Eoin Rigney
Oisin Kelly
Is Cian Johnson back playing for Ferbane.

If these lads came back and Peter Cunningham isn’t abroad the squad will be seriously strengthened for next year.

I think Oisin Kelly has opted for hurling, but he plays football with Ferbane. No help on the other players situation, apparently Cian Johnson is back playing football I heard.

Cian Farrell is in New York for the summer which I suggest rules him out of Edenderrys club championship 2022.

Eoin rigney is still rehabbing his cruciate hasn’t played any club league yet. I’d imagine he will be back for Rhodes club championship as his injury is over 12 months now.

Oisin Kelly is in the same boat as rigney as far as I’m aware. There was talk of fennelly targeting him to be back for the end of Offalys season so he should be fine for club this year.

Cian Johnson has been back since round 3 of the club league this year. Scored 2-6 v Rhode on his first game in over a year and 0-8 from play vs Durrow in the last round which was essentially a league semi final. Wonder why Maughan hasn’t brought him back in seeing as he’s been fit over 2 months now.

The problem here is that when the Tailteann Cup was launched, they wanted to assure doubters that they tournament would be treated with respect. Hence the commitment to play in Croke Park. Unfortunately, part of that commitment to foist prestige on the competition is to foist prestige ticket prices on it as well.

Is Cian back playing ball in New York or just working/traveling for the summer?

It's devastating for the lad as he is towards the end of his county career.
Let's hope he bounces back from it.

Very quiet on the thread here regarding the game.

Best of of luck to OY today in Croker.
Up against it in my opinion, Westmeath have a lot of seasoned campaigners in their team while we have 5 of last years under 20 team starting.

Our bench doesn't have much firepower on it. Where westmeath have at least Kieran Martin and Ger Egan who have a wealth of experience.

Rumour has it, Panda Allen has left the panel recently?

Great servant.

Best of luck lads
