Just said I’d create this, as he announced his retirement.
Thanks Joe, and all the best in retirement.

First saw Joe Bergin in action as a fifteen year old for St. Brendan’s CS versus Dublin Colleges, he was 2-3 years younger than his opponents and gave an exhibition. Huge admiration for the man, incredible commitment to school, club and county over past 18 years, saw tough times at all levels and not a huge number of trophies to show for his efforts but the absolute respect of countless team mates and numerous opponents speaks volumes for his contribution. Well done Joe.

a brillant hurler for offaly and seir kierans over the years best of luck Joe you owe no one nothing gave it 100 per cent every day you lined out. its going to be alot harder to win the division 2 title and christy ring cup without Joe , i though he would stay one more year to right the wrongs that was done to him in last years mcdonagh cup game in tralee .

Memorable clip there.

Will always see Joe going up for a high catch above many others and then go straight to the goal. Would make any goalie shudder i would think.

Thanks for everything Joe.
Kevin Clancey. Signed out of respect for players and all involved with Offaly.

Yes!! He sure was the only player really in the last decade or so for us that could produce that bit of magic. Just like his uncle (I think!) John Troy.

Best of luck with the next chapter.

Don't get carried away with being the only player to produce a bit of magic!

Brian Carroll not long gone, James Dempsey has been a superb keeper, Ben Conneely up there with our best defenders.
