Personally I found the timing of the article quiet interesting but maybe that's just me.

Joachim and the management did look for the game to be played in Birr(there wasnt a mention of that anywhere)

Maybe next weeks article might be on St.Brendans park which is a fine stadium and everything which is done is ALL voluntary.
Please just play hurling.....Please just play hurling.....please just play hurling.

Stop with the side shows. They can be addressed when the dust has settled. 1 player from the Birr club on an Offaly starting team is a extremely poor return from what once was one of the greatest club in the country for many a year. Offaly needs the Birr club to get their ducks in a row and start producing great hurlers once again.

A job needs to be done this weekend and an article on good work in Offaly is always welcome particularly when we're on a low ebb. But the bickering and energy that goes into sideshow issues like what you constantly refer to is especially tiring and helps no one when we need to collectively pull together as a county to try and save face.

Birr seems to have lost its way.....Please just concentrate on hurling in Birr and bringing back the quality players that used to backbone all offaly teams through the 90s and early 2000s. No more distracting comments or adverse north v south battle lines please. Just work on the hurling and getting back to where St Brendans and Offaly need Birr to be.

As for the team named for the weekend....it seems interesting. Hopefully their confidence will have been lifted by the new set up and if all of that starting 15 hurl to their potential we have a good shout of getting a positive performance I think. Antrim are always tricky for us it seems and the way they disposed of a clearly useful Kerry is something we need to be very wary of.

Best of luck to the entire squad and management.

Loneshark, could we have an interview with Christy on the Faithful fields and what type of fertilizer is used and is 10:10:20 still on the go?
Rumour has it that tonnes of 18:6:12 were spotted leaving Grennan’s in Kilcormac early one morning.
In trying to keep up with Dublin, we now have new official suppliers of fertiliser.
New Holland have a strong offer made for official Tractor sponsor, but word on the street is that the County Board are holding out for the green and gold of John Deere.
Good Luck

Simply put, Offaly not good enough. Antrim played better, smarter, fitter and faster. Hard on mgt as they only in a week but use of free man was terrible. Looked like Antrim had the spare man. No short puckouts, no link up play. Full back line was cleaned out. Kiely not a wing back, too loose. Kevin connnoly very light but worked hard. Probably better as a impact sub.
All in all, Offaly are where they are because the teams around them have better hurlers. They are getting bet by better teams.

How is our first touch so outrageously bad and high fielding so poor? You’d have to ask what have they been doing at training all year, shocking stuff!
Antrim the better team they used the short puck out well, dunno how many times the No.20 got the short puckout in the first half. Why did we keep pucking on top of half forward that was winning nothing?
Kiely hurled better when moved to centre back. Here’s hoping Laois beat Kerry and we get one last throw of the dice.

I wasn't at today's game, listened to Midlands 103 commentary in stages. It seemed to me that Offaly could never dominate Antrim, even with 14 men in the first half, and until Conor Mahon's second half red card.
Joachim Kelly said Offaly lacked fitness and confidence, even though they have been training since October. Why were they lacking in fitness today? Offaly gave everything today, I believe.
Kerry will be favourites for the Tralee game in 2/52.

Nothing to do with fitness. A lot to do with confidence. Offaly finished strong and went from 8 points down to two down in last 10 mins. Basic ball handling skills. Full back line turned their back on goalie every time for a puck out. On Mgt instructions? Be a pity to see Offaly go to christy Ring as the Joe mcdonagh is their level. Theyll hammer all before them at the Ring level.

You have the wrong counties there!!
They more Nicky rackard. Ring cup is Kildare, Meath, Wicklow, roscommon, Derry, London, Down and Donegal. 2017, Carlow won this competition beating antrim, look where they are now.
