Pity to see Offaly lose out on a talented player. God knows we need all the players we can get.

Nigel Dunne must still be coming back from Shamrocks exploits in Leinster?

I’d imagine that he’s on the bench. Brigids were in a Leinster final the same weekend as Shamrocks.
Not a bad sub to have!

Niall Mc is still the best forward in the county, i’d Have no problem with him being in the mix.

Have to excuse my ignorance as I'm living in the UK and not in the loop. What sources are there to suggest that Niall Mc is back involved? I've seen more than one reference to it on this thread already.

The only “evidence “ is what is on this page. It dose seem unlikely but you never know.

"Niall McNamee and Brian Darby were approached to come out of retirement but declined while the likes of former captain Sean Pender and Michael Brazil also opted out, to Maughan's surprise"

I heard from a good source Niall Mc is back training he won’t feature tomorrow but if offaly are struggling in the league would be mad not to use him

Aye that would be the take I'd have of it regardless of what's going on at the water cooler.

I thought Ruairi McNamee opted out for 2019, what happened to Shane Tierney?

Conor Mcnamee opted out, never heard anything about Ruairi opting out this year.

Pros and cons after that? I think result aside and the second half fade away there is enough there to be confident about. Players to come back to full fitness and more exposure to Maughans methods and a bit more conditioning and we could have an interesting league in store.

I hear Niall wont play for a while as he rehabs an injury.

The "tackle" on the OY player late on in the right corner back position out on the sideline looked to me , in the stand so a log way away, to be around the neck & dragged down...Black or Red ???...... Far more serious than Paul's stopping the Wh lad a minute later and getting Black..Turning point , maybe...

We faded as the second half progressed and their big physical lads got on top. Was happy with the first 45 and its a start..

We don’t have enough free scoring forwards who are going to shoot the lights out and who can shoot under pressure. And a reoccurring theme of not being able to close games out is a big problem
