There are separate reports in this week's Tullamore Tribune, on the Leinster MHC and MFC games,Offaly v Wexford, played last week.
A full summary of both games, in the paper, and a preview of this Saturday's minor hurling game away to Dublin.

Good result for Kildare, like Carlow's victory in 2005. Not good for Offaly, with the problems afflicting hurling in the county.

But but shout the Board apologists who infest this place there is great work being put into underage hurling. FFS Kildare have over taken us now. Take off the bloody blinkers.

Well said Uibh Fhaili..all the same lads will blame someone else now!
A joke how a plan isnt in place at this stage after years and years of bad results at all ages.

Any of ye at it before ye hit the trigger fingers here lads? Or at any of the minor matches? Would be very slow to start firing any

But its definitely a big worry and would bow to the knowledge of the hurling fraternity in Offaly on this one. Long time since Kildare beat Offaly and a one off win might be the case here.

My limited knowledge though would say its incumbent on whoever want s the job of chairman and I am sure of plenty of candidates from the hurling strongholds as always?....will dust down the plan and get started on implementing change to add to the positive work that is going on.

It doesn't matter if we were at it the results are the results...which make for poor viewing.

Maybe it is about time we had a decent chairman from this end some progress could be made then

Just out of interest. The hurling plan was first put forward in 2015? Has any if it been put in place?. If not, what would be the first 3 recommdations of that plan that you would put on place?
I've read it, it's a good document. From What I can gather under age development squads are doing good stuff. I don't know about the coach education part. How well is that coming along.

Kilcormac won the B feile and Tullamore the D YESTERDAY. Will the work be put in a development squad system to harness the work done by the clubs?

It back to full strenght sides being allowed compete again so Kilcormac's winning the B is a fine achievement.

Could you explain more about this? What do you mean that it is back to full strength?

What I mean is that under Liam ONeill had the brainwave of stopping some of the stronger county champions from playing FNG on the basis it made it a more open tournament. Totally unfair on the young lads who missed out. Now the best sides are all playing again.

Interesting. Thanks for clarifying that. I was not aware that there was a time when the stronger counties were excluded. Skimming through the results from the 10 divisions yesterday, it appears that the rankings appear to be pretty well generated. I didn't see too many instances where a team sailed through a division.

Does it mean that Offaly's rep will go to D1 next year and the next team will step up to D3, give that Offaly won D2 and D4 yesterday?

Well done to both teams. Indeed, I feel that just taking part in such a weekend is a victory in itself as it should help to foster a love of the game for a couple of years to come in the players that are involved.

Derry beat Offaly today in Celtic challange by 6 points on an incredibly black, dark, horrible day for Offaly hurling.
