Good win on Saturday.
I suspect our current benchmarks of Leix and Westmeath have fallen back a bit this year and Offaly are a bit stronger than other years.

Good display on Saturday all right.

The breaks went for Offaly at times but they were well-earned. A few players stood out in terms of scoring but overall it was a balanced team effort. The breeze was very strong so Offaly looked in trouble at the break with only a 5 point lead. The second half display against the breeze was much better and Offaly were comfortable in the end.

Laois have generally had the upper hand over the last several years so they are a good benchmark for Offaly.

Kilkenny will be in a different league as opponents. Best of luck to the Offaly squad. They deserve our support.

Kilkenny are excellant. Very strong all over the field. It will be very tough as this will be a major step up in the skill level that Offaly have faced so far.

Offaly’s Minor Hurling Management Eunan Martin, Eamon Hoctor, Liam Bergin, Hughie Hannon and Gareth Doorley have named their panel to take on Kilkenny in Semi Final of the Electric Ireland Minor Hurling Championship on Saturday 23rd June at 1pm in Bord na Mona O’Connor Park

1 Stephen Loughnane (Shinrone)
2 Aaron Brazil (Shannonbridge)
3 Aaron Flanagan (Clodiagh Gaels)
4 Shane Mulrooney (Kilcormac/Killoughey)
5 Bill Egan (Shannonbridge)
6 Dara Maher (Shinrone)
7 Luke Egan (Tullamore)
8 Evan Houlihan (St Rynagh’s)
9 Luke Nolan (Birr)
10 Cathal Kiely (Kilcormac/Killoughey)
11 Cillian Sampson (Shinrone)
12 Cathal Donoghue (Kilcormac/Killoughey)
13 Ciaran Teehan (Coolderry)
14 DJ McLoughlin (Shinrone)
15 Andrew Walsh (Ballinamere)

Good win the last day. Sampson outstanding, I was also impressed by Egan at 5. His man got behind him a couple of times early on, but he tightened up and won a few puck outs.

It’ll be interesting to see how they go against Kilkenny. They’ve been competitive in challenge games versus Galway, Cork, etc. They’ve a good man at the helm in Martin, who has been successful to a degree in the last couple of years, winning a Celtic Challenge two years ago.

A very well done to players and mgt of the minors. KK are very good and are a good bet to go all the way.
The need for good mgt from under 13 development squad s right to minor is key. Good mgt, good trainers and good coaches.
Well done again to all involved.
