I was 13 sitting with the aul lad in the hogan stand absolutely soaked and if I remember correctly there was thunder and lightening that day. The Kilkenny team were soaked on the pitch before the game with Offaly waiting for it to stop. To this day it was by far the best game I ever attended in terms of a team playing at their brilliant best, that should have ended with two in a row that year. We really were spoiled for choice that time, even the footballers snook in with Leinster in ‘97, if we won a Leinster now we could get the robots to cover work for a few weeks!!

I saw that the Offaly footballers are against a tiered championship in last weeks Tribune

I’m fairly sure that I pointed this out on here when it was announced.
The writer also fails to note that the intermediate championship is largely similar, a bastardised version, with 9 teams, as opposed to 8 in senior A and B.

BracknaghBoy also called it👏👏

If this chap was to gain a bit of self confidence he could end up a decent footballer :D
