Ballycommon or Shannonbridge for me to win outright. Daingean going to contend also with Ferbane not far behind

Just looking at the Offaly GAA website. I note that St Brigid’s gave Ferbane a walkover. Does anyone know the scéal on that one?
I noticed that rounds 8 and 9 are being played as opposed to rounds 3 and 4.
Would that have anything to do with it?

KK defeated Doon on a scoreline of 4-14 to 2-10

While in Croghan, the scoreline finished Clonbullogue 2-08 Ballycommon 0-13

So, there’s a bit on the Brigid’s situation in the Tribune tomorrow.

Clonbullogue v Shannonbridge - Shannonbridge
St Brigid’s v Doon - St Brigid’s
Ballycommon v KK - Ballycommon
Daingean v Tullamore - Daingean
Ferbane have a Bye

Oh yeah, the county board have just plonked some fixtures at less than a weeks notice to clubs. With two clubs having a meagre 3 day turnaround.

I believe St. Brigids have written confirmation of a request for the weekend off that that match was fixed for. So It's up i the air as to what the fallout is.
I would say that w/o will be scratched and the match refixed. I think there was a big stag night in the club.

Shannonbridge won by 1, tighter than I expected.
Brigids easy win as predicted.
Ballycommon plenty to spare over depleted KK
Daingean score 2 late points to force a draw!

One would imagine they would need written confirmation of an agreement to the request, rather than the request itself, no?

It's got to be up to the CCC to decide on this one. I believe Brigids have asked for a resolution and for the W/O to be scratched. One to watch as it will affect who qualifies for semis or Q/Fs in this division.

I see that Clara are due to host games on Wednesday and Thursday at 8pm.
Clara don’t have proper lights if I’m not mistaken, and the evenings are gone…

I see that Doon got relegated last night. It won’t be easy getting back up, particularly if numbers are low which I presume they are. Sad for a club that were senior in the not too distant past are now in the fourth tier of Offaly football.

There’s no denying we are hurt by this but realistic all the same. Numbers are very low so we are now faced with rebuilding from junior.

We are a proud club with a great tradition having provided some brilliant county players over the years and hopefully we will be back.

A special thanks to our manager Dobsy Prendergast and his management team for their commitment this year often in challenging circumstances.

I'm sorry to see Doon drop down. I have family links to the area, I was there when they won the Junior on the way up, on a fine Sunday evening around 1987, and I was there when they played their three Senior semi-finals.
Very like ourselves, a small population, depending on a golden generation to come along every so often. I hope they can arrest their slide and that the next golden generation comes along soon.
