In this case the club didn't provide lines men neither, so their resources weren't used at all.

Surely the referee if without umpires would know 1 or 2 hours before the game and should have to alert the host venue.

Umpires from the opposing team, calling ref's attention for an incident he didn't see is and worse again, the ref using that information to give a straight red card.

Wasn't at game but heard from a Drumcullen man that is twas pure madness from Noel Flynn.
Not to defend Noel Fylnn or anything but when he can’t rely on his umpires and he sees two players rolling around on the ground together he hasn’t much choice but send off the two lads! Poor organisation though as a whole from both Noel for not bringing any of his own officials and also Ballinamere for not stepping in to provide officials

Host clubs should not have to provide umpires.

Obviously in an ideal world, the ref would have his own - however nothing about club refereeing is ideal, since it's very hard get enough people involved and to make sure you have fit, competent officials at as many games as possible. And at least a referee can get a few bob out of it - I have genuinely no idea why anyone would become an umpire.

The question then becomes where do you get them from, and the host club is obviously one other option. It's certainly preferable to the "one form each club" nonsense you often get, where one fella waves a wide and the other signals a point regardless of whether the shot missed ball stop or bounced on the top of the crossbar on the way over.

If a club wishes to host a game they should provide umpires, score board, showers etc. If they can't, they should not get games. Was at moystown, really will run with parking, stewards and scoreboard. Was also in kilurin. No scoreboard, no parking and they charging in to the game.

So you’re saying if the field has not got a scoreboard or parking they should not charge going into the game?

A club when hosting a championship games should have a working scoreboard. If they don't, they should not get games. Parking can't be helped. But if I'm paying in to watch a match , I don't want to be wondering what the score is. If
