Has anyone got (or know where they can be found online) the 2016 census figures broken down by Local Election Area (LEA)?

I'd like to have a cut at this but the preference would be to have the most recent figures to hand. I'll be picking brains for local knowledge too, as parish boundaries straddle LEAs.

Does the census categorise parishes? Because in some parishes you could be closer to one village, but be in another villages parish. Then you've the st Vincent's area, etc. Where lines of boundaries are between Cappincur and Ballycommon, etc

Then you've Shannon Harbour. 1/2 Rynaghs 1/2 Tisaran

Before we get figures, I will try and establish the link between the LEAs and the Catholic parishes which form the basis for the clubs. I’d have a decent to middling grasp of the south and west Offaly ones, but would appreciate assistance with those around and east of Tullamore; particularly the Raheen and Edenderry ones which at the moment are best guesses
Starting with south Offaly

Moneygall (in Tipperary for the GAA): Cullenwaine, Templeharry, Barna, Dunkerrin.
Shinrone: Shinrone, Cangort, Ballincor
Ballyskenagh-Killavilla: Mountheaton, Gorteen
Coolderry: Ettagh, Kilcolman, Aghancon
Birr: Birr urban
Crinkill: Birr rural
Seir Kieran: Seir Kieran
(where does Dromoyle fit in?)
Kinnitty: Kinnitty, Letter, Tulla, Letter
Drumcullen: Drumcullen, Knockbarron, Killyon, Eglish
Lusmagh: Lusmagh, and part of Mounterin (about a quarter)
St Rynagh’s: Banagher, Shannon Harbour, Cloghan, Gallen, the larger part of Mounterin
(where does Derryad fit in?)
Ferbane-Belmont: Huntston, Lumcloon (which is a different Lumcloon to the one between Cloghan and Kilcormac), Moyclare, Ferbane, Lea
Shannonbridge: Shannonbridge, Clonmacnois
Kilcormac-Killoughey: KIlcormac, Broughal, Derrinboy, Killooly, Killoughey, Rathrobin
Doon: Hinds, Doon
Ballycumber: Ballycumber, Srah
Erin Rovers: (tricky one – looks like it takes part of Srah)
Tubber: Tinamuck
(Kilcumreragh and maybe Gorteen look to be Horseleap, what’s the story here?)
Clara: Clara
Shamrocks: Rahan, Screggan, Bawn
Ballinamere: Silverbrook
Durrow: Durrow
Tullamore: Tullamore Urban
(I suspect Tullamore rural is Shamrocks but someone might have an opinion on this?)
Clodiagh Gaels: Killeigh
Cappincur: Cappincur
Ballycommon: Ballycommon
(is Tinnycross Ballycommon?)
KIlclonfert: KIlclonfert
Daingean: Daingean
St Brigid’s: Croghan
Rhode: Ballyburley, Ballymacwilliam
Clonmore Harps: Clonmore, Knockdrin
Edenderry-Ballyfore: (hard to tell the boundary from the map here) Edenderry Urban, Edenderry Rural, Monasteroris, Esker, Mountbriscoe,
Clonbullogue: Clonbullogue
Bracknagh: Bracknagh
Walsh Island: (possibly part of one or both of the above)
Gracefield: Portarlington north, Hammerlane
Ballinagar: part of Geashill
Raheen: remainder of Geashill, Cloneygowan, O’Dempsey, Ballyshear, Rathfeston, Ballaghassaan, Raheenakeeran

I haven’t used a checklist so I do apologise if I left anyone out.

Carrig & Riverstown is in County Tipperary but consists of the LEAs of Riverstown, Carrig and probably Clonaskin

I'm impressed. Erin Rovers is literally Pollagh, in saying that it has 900+ inhabitants

Tullamore rural could be a ring around Tullamore, not sure though

Thank you. I will put numbers to them but that's a job for another day. I can always use the 2011 census figures, they won't be radically different anyway.

Do you know is there a polling station in Pollagh? What's it called? Or where do the people of Pollagh vote?

Would love to clarify the Edenderry, Ballyfore, Geashill ones.

I assume pollagh ns, I think it's st Mary's. I'd imagine that if there's a ballyfore person on the forum, or someone from that neck of the woods could inform us of their pick, due to the lack of a polling station.
Same as with geashill, ballinagar, edenderry, etc

Am I totally wrong in saying Edenderry and Ballyfore are the one parish therefore you can play with whichever club you want?

David Brady played with Ballyfore up the end of 2015 as far as I know but has played with Edenderry for the last two seasons.

Something tells me that was the case somewhere along the line. There were green and white flags flying outside houses from the canal bridge at Edenderry all the way to the parish boundary at that bridge near the turn for Clonbullogue.

Aye, well sort of. St Patrick's parish. However each have their own area. Tom Coffey wouldn't transfer to Edanderry, he went to Rhode.
Brady got a transfer when they were relegated to either junior A or B, not sure. I think he would've fallen into Ballyfore's area, thus meaning he got a transfer, as if he were going to any other club.

Good to see that Ballyfore won the junior B this year.

You're correct with the territory aspect POTH

That would place Ballyfore's catchment as being the LEA of Monasteroris and perhaps Esker (if the latter isn't the Mount Lucas side of Daingean).

Been from the North of the county can only comment on that part. Edenderry is too far west. Ballyfore covers from the Canal bridge in edenderry on Tullamore road up as far as the yellow river which is right beside the turn off for Clonbullogue on the Main Edenderry-Daingean road. Ballyfore is all area on the left of this road heading tullamore direction but on the right hand side the boundary is hard to tell as it runs into the rhode and edenderry borders in lots of places. The croghan boundary is too big I think. Its going to far East on that map. The rhode parish is bigger than that and Clonmore is smaller as well. Im open to correction on any of the above

As far as I know the parish of Edenderry extends westward to Esker Bridge which to me looks to be in the townsland of Eskermore? It ends at Kilcumber bridge on the road to clonbulloge. The Kildare county boundaries define the parish, East and north. Also the rhode parish begins at Ballymacwilliam, and the parish of Ballinabrackey in the diocese of meath(which includes Clonmore) begins at Roosk Bridge.

Anyways the situation as regards players, again to my knowledge and open to correction, is that if a young chap wants to play with Edenderry or Ballyfore, its generally up to themselves and no objections are raised locally.
