I have decided to open this thread just to amalgamate the chat relating to the issues of the last few months/weeks/days.....

Is this going to go further or have we reached an all time low?

I've a feeling that they'll make a bollocks of a couple of more things first, then we'll have arrived at that all time low. Could be wrong.

Meanwhile, sign this.

Utter disaster, one wonders is our down fall over the past 15 years due to incompetence on a county board. After Flanagans case it seems to be a case of we run the county board and we will decide everything. Big respect has to go to the players and management , committing to the cause even tho shit like this is going on in the background. I presume clubs vote these people in so what hope is there of change if clubs are rowing in behind what's on the county board. We are lucky that this has come out now, gives us plenty of time to try and fix it , but on the other hand it needs sorting quick to settle the whole thing.

Just seen on facebook the hurling review committee have resigned en masse. This, and Pat Flanagan's interview: GUB rather than GUBU, although the scale and proximity of these revelations may indeed be unprecedented. I would have always made allowances for people on the board given that I would not know very much about the mechanisms or constraints of a functioning board, and there is no way I'd be able to do that kind of work, but this has truly been a turbulent week.
And it's not over yet...

I think more people actually involved in a club should be there. Generally someone who has nothing else to be at is sent to the meetings

Well I bet if nothing else the county board would like it to be last Monday again.. I feel an egm occurring in the near future Tommy Burne and his top table can't remain they might not be 100% to blame for the past 15years but this last week is enough to see anyone gone. The poor decisions and lack of respect for people who have worked hard for the improvement of our county is nothing but disgraceful. I'm sure young people would get involved if the mafia were gotten rid of..

We'll have to oust the CB first.

I think Paschal will stay with Rhode to try and win a few more county titles and a Leinster.

Have a revolt. Get your club to ask for county board members to stand down, I'll do the same, and so should everyone. Get them out ASAP

Serious ceist - anyone any ideas for an alternative top table - chairman, secretary, treasurer, assistant treasurer etc? I don't have anyone specific in mind though my own preference would be for personnel from the private and business sector. But who'd be to the forefront in this regard?

Just for the avoidance of doubt, but isn't it the Implementation Committee that has resigned? The Review committee is a different group who are reviewing the hurling team managements and whose work remains unaffected.

And where would that leave the review, which received contributions from a majority of the players and that subsequently made the decision to recommend the Senior football management not be reappointed? The recommendation of the review committee was approved by by the delegate at Tuesday night's meeting, right?

If every club sends a young energetic person to a convention where they speak on various matters in relation to both club and county teams in tullamore. People may then put their names foward for election to various roles. With a transfer vote system.

Also, opinions on separate boards for Football and Hurling.???

Maybe, just maybe, one of these years some of this anger will last long enough and run deep enough to actually make changes come Convention time. But I won't hold my breath.
