I think that most people want to see a St Rynagh KK final .
St Rynagh beat KK in 2015 and 2016 semi final and KK beat them in the 2012 and 2014 finals so the rivalry is huge and as a Rynaghs man told me the dream is to put titles back to back and beat KK in the final .

Poth i meant to say most neutral people would like to see St Rynagh V KK play in the knockout stages again there should be a bit to it.

Following last evening's Intermediate round 5 results, I make the IHC quarter-final pairings as follows -

Kilcormac v Brosna Gaels
Ballinamere v St Rynagh's
Clareen v Carrig
Coolderry v Drumcullen
(Kilcormac trump Ballinamere for top place on the head-to-head rule)

The quarter-finals are more than a passage to the semi-finals. They are also promotion play-offs with the winners graded Senior B next year and the losers graded Intermediate (where they will join Clara, Birr, B-K and Clodiagh). Therefore, you'd fancy Ballinamere, Carrig and Drumcullen to advance, with K-K and Brosna very much 'on the day'.

Did you see odds for the games this evening somewhere? None of the mainstream bookies have them up, on account of the fact that none of the games matter in the slightest. I'd be fascinated to see who was brave enough to offer betting on what are glorified challenge matches.

Clareen's trip to the northern regions didn't do them any harm with a comprehensive win over Tullamore tonight. Result of the night is Shinrone's one point victory over St. Rynagh's in Crinkle.
With Lusmagh losing to Kinnitty they must be relegated to Senior B for 2018, and the quarter finalists finalised.

The Senior hurling championship requires three more weekends to complete (barring replays), whereas the Senior A football championship will require five weekends to complete. Also, the Senior A football champions are scheduled to play in Leinster a week before the Senior hurling winners.

Is it likely that there will be a couple of successive football weekends in order to balance the finals out?
