I think the new structure has freshened up the championship considerably. Having the 4 best senior teams in the county made for exciting group games.

Also all the group games have significance. in the past the last couple of group games were usually meaningless as the teams had already qualified. What's quite clear is that there is not much of a gap between the grades except the top senior teams are miles ahead.

Shannonbridge, Bracknagh and Cappincur are all up and coming young teams who could potentially play senior football in the near future. Having seen these teams during the year they are good young teams who move the ball at speed and have pace all over the field. Shannonbridge look to have a couple of very good players that could be brought into the county fold

Big weekends for Bracknagh and Ferbane in the Football championships. Bracknagh will go to Senior B next year having beaten Shannonbridge in the Intermediate Final, while Ferbane's victory over Tullamore will see them contest their first County Final since that most controversial of defeats to Edenderry in 1997. Will this be the end to the famine in Ferbane?

Congrats to both.

They can. Rhode won yesterday, but didn't play well. If Gracefield had another forward they would be in the final.

Superb win for Ferbane yesterday. They showed great intensity and energy, and played a fine brand of football. There is definitely a county championship in this team. Whether it will be this year, time will tell. Looking at both semi finals, they are in with a shout, though semi final form is not often a predictor of performance in a final.

great to have Ferbane back on County Final day, hard to believe its 1997 since their last final, I agree Rhode will need to improve from their sem1-final display but that is guaranteed.

Ah Townman, where's your assessment of your native club's appearance in the county semi-final?

Surely the Junior C & B Finals should have been played as a double header in O'Connor park tomorrow rather than under lights tonight? A final fixed for 8pm does not suit families etc... I think its very disrespectful for the four clubs involved.

After 2 weeks on the beer post the Intermediate final I was glad of the fresh air in Tubber tonight! Lusmagh were excellent in the Junior B final. They cut through Rhode from the start and it was over by half time. It might only be Junior B but they played decent attacking football and I am always delighted to see teams from non traditional areas give it a lash. In reality Lusmagh have nothing to fear in the Junior A next year....Iooks to me that if they gave it a proper go they could go on a run like K/K they a couple of years back. I see Cappincur and Clonbullogue drew in the Junior 'C' final.

Glad you enjoyed it, Brack. As I did. Immensely. The win keeps the spirit going, keeps building momentum, sod by sod.
And if I knew you were going, we'd have arranged to exchange pleasantries in person. Bah!

And hat off to Tubber for their marvellous facilities.
